Easby Electronics are pleased to introduce the new ultra robust 62F 125v ultracapacitor module from Nesscap which will run alongside its standard module but incorporating weather proof connectors, high performance long life fans and stainless steel/aluminium housing. Both modules have been designed for use in heavy transportation such as trains, trams, buses, lorries and mining for re-generative braking and acceleration assist, engine start and torque assist.

The module offers ultimate performance with
- ultra low internal resistance
- integrated UMU (ultracapacitor monitoring unit (individual cell balancing)
- CAN 2.0B communication interface for monitoring module state
- Lifetime of 1,500 hours at Vr and 65oC – 1,000,000 cycles
- Temperature range -40oC+65oC
- Cells protected to IP65 IEC60529
- Vibration and Shock Resistance EN61373:2010
- Insulation Rated to 1kV DC, rated impulse withstand voltage 6kV DC:IEC 61287-1
- 135.6 Wh stored energy at Vr
- Cooling 2 fans 80W total

Both the standard and heavy duty modules are based on Nesscap’s proven 3000F 2.7v cells and
both product types have already competed many thousands of hours of reliable operations in the
transportation market. The extremely low internal resistance of these modules enables a very long
operational life to be achieved. Easby can also offer bespoke ultracapacitor systems using advanced cell balancing know how as well as integration services.
