Hyundai Mobis selects Wind River for software-defined vehicle development
Wind River, a company specialising in software for intelligent systems, has announced that Hyundai Mobis has chosen Wind River Studio to hasten its software-defined vehicle development.
Hyundai Mobis and Wind River have been working together on a top-tier software development infrastructure for future mobility solutions. The collaboration has focused on advancing the development and delivery of automotive systems, with Hyundai Mobis utilising Wind River's edge products. These include Wind River Linux, the VxWorks real-time operating system, and system simulation tools for development and rapid prototyping in both simulated and real hardware-based environments, along with new custom test infrastructures.
Expanding on this collaboration, Hyundai Mobis plans to further its partnership with Wind River to achieve the vision of software-defined vehicles. This expansion will see Hyundai Mobis using its pipeline, built with Wind River Studio, in continuous integration and testing initiatives. Hyundai Mobis aims to enhance the DevSecOps process with Mobis Dev Studio, a pioneering collaboration platform providing a flexible development environment and enabling continuous integration and testing. This will allow Mobis to grow its own platform, optimising software development and testing environments. Hyundai Mobis will utilise key Wind River Studio components like Virtual Lab, test automation, pipelines, and Web IDE, all within a Cloud-native infrastructure, to provide a modernised development environment for an end-to-end lifecycle, including software development, deployment, and operation of central controller gateway and in-vehicle infotainment systems.
Jung Soo-Kyung, Executive Vice President of Hyundai Mobis, expects the collaboration to lead to a global system enhancing scalability and efficiency in development within the dynamic automotive sector.
Avijit Sinha, President of Wind River, commented, “Software is central to realising a more connected and autonomous future. Wind River Studio can help leaders like Hyundai Mobis with a modernised development framework across Cloud and edge, combined with advanced software lifecycle management capability, to accelerate their innovation and pave the way to future success.”
Wind River Studio provides a Cloud-native platform for the development, deployment, operations, and servicing of mission-critical intelligent systems, offering a comprehensive lifecycle management platform for intelligent systems on a Cloud scale. Studio enables development workflows that reduce costs and accelerate capabilities for building, testing, and deploying at the edge.
