APEM Components Inc announce the availability of its new Series 82 Navigator stainless steel keypad, which combines high style and rugged durability, offering long life under almost every kind of abuse. The compact Series 82 Navigator keypads are available with or without backlighting, with four or five keys. The Series 82 Navigator is built to be highly durable for harsh environmentsand can stand up to extreme temperatures, vandalism, salt spray, humidity, and high usage. This makes the Series 82 Navigator ideal for high end navigation panels for luxury cars and yachts, bank ATMs, outdoor payment self-serve kiosks, industrial processes involving hot liquids or caustic materials, emergency vehicles, public transportation, elevators, access control, and the military, anywhere a navigation function is needed.
The Navigator keypad has a trim design with outside dimensions of 2.2 inches x 2.2 inches (56mm x 56mm) and a height of 0.84 inches (21.25mm). The use of chemical engraving on the keys ensures a long life for the Series 82 Navigator. The rear mounting on a customer panel can be installed flush, raised, or recessed. The AISI 316 L stainless steel used is an extra low carbon grade, with high resistance to corrosion. The keypad comes standard face-sealed to IP65 and with a vandal rating of IK07. Standard voltage is 12Vdc.

Available options include a customized front panel, custom marking layout (also offered in anodized aluminum), a variety of illumination color choices, and voltage of 5Vdc or 24Vdc.

“Our tough stainless steel Series 82 Navigator keypads stand up in environments where conventional keypads experience high failure rates, making them dependable over the life of the application” said Norma Torti, Product Manager at APEM Components. “In addition, our modular design means APEM can develop custom solutions without prohibitive tooling costs.”
