Atmel Corporation has launched its next-gen 4 channels Passive Keyless Entry (PKE) coil drivers with an integrated immobiliser base station. Expandable to 8 low-frequency (LF) channels, the Atmel ATA5291 is the world’s most integrated passive entry coil driver, allowing car manufacturers to deliver the latest breakthrough technologies in a variety of PKE applications.

Ficosa revolutionises the market of sensors and cameras integrated into the car with a pioneering solution to clean the lenses of these devices automatically. Expanding its DIP24 packaged DC/DC converter portfolio, PEAK electronics has announced the P34TG which features a 5:1 ultra-wide input. Expanding its RL78 family, Renesas Electronics has unveiled the RL78/F15 group of low-power 16-bit MCUs for vehicle control systems such as body control modules, air conditioners and power seats. The high-functionality MCU group combines industry-leading low-power consumption with high processing performance and CAN communication that can be used independently for control and diagnostics.

Designed specifically for transportation applications, a rugged 10.4" EN50155 certified touchscreen railway display has been introduced by Axiomtek. The P6105 offers a resistive touchscreen with 500nits high brightness and has LED backlighting for power saving. It is equipped with an RS-232 touch control interface, as well as DVI-D and HDMI video inputs to offer customers a variety of connection options.

Perpetuum has secured an important contract with Network Rail. The contract, which means Perpetuum will provide ongoing services to Network Rail for track condition analysis, comes after 12 months of development work with the national rail infrastructure owners.

When Clayton Equipment secured the contract from London Underground to convert a fleet of maintenance locomotives from diesel to electric power, it asked EnerSys to supply the motive power batteries. The battery manufacturer supplied cells from its Hawker Perfect Plus range which were assembled into high-performance 210kWh packs to deliver the power needed to support a highly demanding operational requirement.
