Atmel Corporation has launched its next-gen 4 channels Passive Keyless Entry (PKE) coil drivers with an integrated immobiliser base station. Expandable to 8 low-frequency (LF) channels, the Atmel ATA5291 is the world’s most integrated passive entry coil driver, allowing car manufacturers to deliver the latest breakthrough technologies in a variety of PKE applications.

Railway DC/DC converters on show at SPS IPC Drives

The specially designed railway modules, which will be presented in Hall 3A, Booth 620 at SPS IPC Drives in Nuremberg, 24th to 26th November, are available with input ranges of 13 to 70VDC and 42 to 176VDC.

Designed specifically for transportation applications, a rugged 10.4" EN50155 certified touchscreen railway display has been introduced by Axiomtek. The P6105 offers a resistive touchscreen with 500nits high brightness and has LED backlighting for power saving. Clayton equipment converts underground locos with EnerSys batteries
When Clayton Equipment secured the contract from London Underground to convert a fleet of maintenance locomotives from diesel to electric power, it asked EnerSys to supply the motive power batteries. The battery manufacturer supplied cells from its Hawker Perfect Plus range which were assembled into high-performance 210kWh packs to deliver the power needed to support a highly demanding operational requirement.
