3.5” micro module suits industrial and railway applications
Avalue Technology has introduced the ECM-DX2 3.5" micro module, targeted to meet the demands of the embedded market, such as industrial automation, railway industry, cleantech, transportation/vehicle construction and aviation applications.
AEC-Q100 motor driver offers 1.5A peak phase current
The MCP8063, an automotive AEC-Q100-qualified motor driver, has been launched by Microchip. Offered in 4x4mm DFN package, the company claims that the device is the world’s first to combine all of those features with 1.5A peak phase current for the 180° sinusoidal drive of a variety of three-phase brushless DC motor and fan applications.
Power shunt resistors precisely sense high currents
Expanding the company's line of power shunt resistors, KOA Speer Electronics has introduced the PSI and PSE series to address higher current applications. The 3W (PSI) and 5W (PSE) power ratings enable these resistors to offer a smooth current flow making them suitable for large current detecting.
DC/DC modules meet railway rolling stock demands
A family of high performance DC/DC converter modules, the ERM family, has been launched by Artesyn Embedded Technologies. The devices meet the power demands and safety standard requirements of railway rolling stock applications.
Thin film chip resistor now available in 0805 case size
The PATT precision automotive thin film chip resistor, from Vishay Intertechnology, is now available in the 0805 case size. Featuring high-temperature operation to +155°C with 100% power dissipation, derated linearly to 0 mW at +250°C, the company claims the device provides a nearly 85°C extension in operating temperature range over conventional chip resistors.
Railway approved cable makes installations future proof
Designed for the passenger railway market in the EMEA region, the RailTuff BE43802 cable has been launched by Belden. The Cat 7 Ethernet data cable has a transmission performance of 10 Gbps, allowing the integration of multiple on board applications; effectively making cable installations future proof.
Cabinets meet railway shock and vibration standards
Withstanding the high shock and vibration typically found in railway applications, Optima Stantron has designed and successfully tested cabinets to meet both North American (AREMA) and European (CENELEC) railway standards. Optima Stantron designed the welded and riveted frame by modifying the standard M1 cabinet frame design.
AEC-Q200 sample kits for thin film chip resistors
AEC-Q200 qualified laboratory sample kits have been announced by Vishay, for the company's high-stability thin film chip resistors. Aiding engineers in prototyping and speeding time to market, the TNPW0402 e3 (LTW0402 e3 96/4) and TNPW0603 e3 (LTW0603 e3 96/4) kits provide roughly 100 of the most popular resistance values in the TNPW0402 e3 and TNPW0603 e3 packages.
250W DC/DC converter for railway applications
Suitable for supplying points, signal lamps and electronic monitoring of the rail net, MTM Power has introduced the HVC series 250W DC/DC converters for railway applications. The devices are available with an input range of 420-1100V dc (375-1125V dc for less than 2 seconds), isolation up to 8 kV ac and the standard output voltage of 24V dc.
Rochester re-introduces Intel’s powerful automotive MCU
Rochester Electronics is officially licensed by Intel to continue manufacturing the 80C196KC 16-bit microcontroller. The powerful 80C196KC is a high performance member of the MCS 96 microcontroller family, which utilises the CHMOS III process that provides a high performance processor along with low power consumption.
