GlobalData say Czech energy goals are difficult to achieve
The Czech Republic has ambitious plans to phase out coal and transition to more renewable energy by 2030, however the country seems to have no clear roadmap to achieve this goal.
Waste heat from BillerudKorsnäs enables green industrial project
Waste heat from production at the BillerudKorsnäs mill in Frövi will be harnessed and used to run a 20-hectare industrial estate, including Sweden’s largest tomato greenhouse.
Shift to port electrification: helping to meet zero emissions target
Harbours and ports’ transition to full electrification will be a key contributor in reducing shipping’s output of greenhouse gases, said Vattenfall. Despite transporting around 80% of global trade, shipping accounts for a modest three percent of global greenhouse gas emissions.
Croatia aim for 12% growth in renewable capacity
Croatia has adopted renewable auctions in a bid to increase the share of renewables in its power mix, according to GlobalData. These auctions are expected to help increase the country’s installed renewable power capacity (excluding hydropower) from 1 gigawatt in 2020 to 3.2 gigawatts in 2030, growing at a remarkable CAGR of 12%.

Production of 70,000 tonnes of biomass pellets per year
The EU-funded Arbaflame project is aiming to produce 70,000 tonnes biomass-based combustibles per year to enable clean power generation. The biomass pellets are made of wood and can be used as a 100% sustainable alternative to coal in power plants to produce carbon-neutral power.
Self-produced solar energy sharing amongst neighbours
In order to meet Europe's ambitious climate targets, greenhouse gas emissions must be drastically reduced by 2030. To achieve this, around 28 million multi-family houses with over 80 million households must be equipped with photovoltaics. Accordingly, Infineon has introduced a solar power sharing technology.
