Dyson Engineers shaping sustainable innovation
In the electronics industry, sustainability, speed, usability, size, and a whole host of other ‘must haves’ in product design are integral – and the engineers designing these products must learn to pivot fast as both technology and needs change.
Radiation-tolerant 2.5ns single-channel comparator with push-pull outputs
The TLV1H103-SEP is a 325MHz, high speed comparator with rail-to-rail inputs and a propagation delay of 2.5ns. The combination of fast response and wide operating voltage range make the comparator an excellent choice for narrow signal pulse detection and data and clock recovery applications in radar imaging and communications payload systems.
Automotive 1400V matched thin-film resistor divider with 12.5MΩ fixed input
The RES60A-Q1 is a matched resistive divider, implemented in thin-film SiCr with Texas Instruments’ modern, high-performance, analog wafer process. A high quality SiO2 insulative layer encapsulates the resistors and enables usage at extremely high voltages, up to 1400VDC for sustained operation or 4000VDC for HiPOT testing (60s).
STMicroelectronics and ENGIE sign electricity supply agreement
STMicroelectronics, a global semiconductor pioneer serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications, has announced a 21-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with BKH Solar Sdn Bhd, an entity jointly established by ENGIE Renewable SEA Pte (ENGIE), a global specialist in low-carbon energy and services, and Conextone Energy Sdn Bhd, a rapidly emerging solar energy developer in Malaysia.
Audio switching driver with load diagnostics
Nisshinbo Micro Devices has announced the launch of the NA1150, an audio switching driver designed for automotive applications.
Infineon and Stellantis to advance innovation in power conversion and distribution
Stellantis and Infineon have announced they will work jointly on the power architecture for Stellantis’ electric vehicles to support Stellantis’ ambition of offering clean, safe and affordable mobility to all.
‘Radar stethoscope’ improves contactless health technology
A new advance in health monitoring which uses radar to ‘listen’ to patients’ heart sounds with remarkable accuracy could lead to a new generation of contactless medical monitoring equipment.
Earthshot Prize 2024 winners announced
The five 2024 Earthshot Prize winners were announced at a high-profile awards ceremony in Cape Town, South Africa, hosted by Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award winner Billy Porter alongside acclaimed television presenter Bonang Matheba.
RVCA automotive grade chip resistors for EV power control
EV powertrain designers face challenges when designing power system controls. General purpose chip resistors typically are rated up to only 200V or 300V where EV powertrains are typically 400V to 800V and beyond.
Toshiba and MIKROE safety-focused automotive gate driver board
Toshiba has partnered with MIKROE to integrate its robust TB9083FTG gate-driver IC into the Brushless 30 Click, a compact add-on board for precise and reliable control of brushless DC (BLDC) motors in automotive applications.
