Converters operate to the current source push-pull principle
A primary switched DC/DC converters series, specifically designed for automotive and railway applications, has been introduced by MTM Power. The PMDS/PCMDS30 series operate according to the current source push-pull principle and working with a frequency of 70/140 kHz.
2-wire Hall effect switches can be re-programmed
The latest addition to the company’s advanced Hall effect switch/latch IC offering, Melexis Technologies has announced the MLX92242. The highly integrated device combines a voltage regulator (supporting a wide operating voltage range), Hall sensing element and a current sink-configured output driver all in a single compact, low-profile package.
Resistors for automotive engine and transmission modules
Expanding the company's VMx precision resistor family with gold-plated contacts, Isabellenhütte has introduced the VMx-A series. These gold-plated low-ohmic resistors are suitable for mounting with conductive adhesive on high-temperature circuit boards, as well as for component mounting by means of reflow and IR soldering.
Gold-plated bondable resistors adhere to AEC-Q200
Well suited to applications in the automotive sector in which there are high requirements in terms of temperature and load, Isabellenhütte has introduced the PMH-D and PLU precision performance foil resistors. They can also be used in industrial applications such as frequency converters and power modules with DCB ceramic substrates.
Wireless controller for IoT sensor systems
LPRS offers the low cost, high security easyRadio Integrated Controller (eRIC) for Internet of Things (IoT) system builders. The system-on-chip fully integrated wireless controller is suitable for remote, battery powered sensor systems, offering designers seven power saving modes of operation to ensure maximum battery life of remote sensors.
Whitepaper explores efficient electromagnetic simulation
Computer Simulation Technology has released a whitepaper discussing electromagnetic simulation: "Efficient Electromagnetic Simulation of Shielding Mechanisms in Microwave Ovens". This paper discusses how electromagnetic simulation can be used to design effective shielding mechanisms in order to adhere to legal and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements.
Compact sine wave inverters deliver up to 260W of power
Delivering up to 260W of power in a compact chassis-mount package, the PRP-260 Series of pure sine wave inverters has been announced by Schaefer. The PRP-260 Series has versions that comply with industrial (EN60950) or rail (EN50155) standards.
Fiber optic trunk cables suited to wireless infastructure
A fiber optic trunk cable, which are increasingly being used to replace copper in wireless infastructure, is now available from RF Industries. Utilising Corning FREEDM One fiber trunk cable, the cables are offered with 6 strand single mode or multi-mode, 12, 24, or 36 strand single mode configurations, and can be used for indoor, outdoor, or direct burial applications. The cables are also flame-retardant and UV-resistant.
L-band frequency synthesiser for GPS clock systems
Operating in the L-band at 1575.42MHz with a 10MHz reference, the SFS1575D-LF single fixed frequency synthesiser has been announced by Z-Communications. It is designed to deliver a typical output power of 5dBm with a VCO voltage supply of 5V DC while drawing 20mA (typical) and a phase locked loop voltage of 3V DC while drawing 14mA (typical).
Universal edgewound resistor offers power to 1600W
Providing a convenient drop-in replacement for competing solutions, the Milwaukee EDGU universal edgewound power resistor has been launched by Vishay Intertechnology. The universal-mounted EDGU combines a high-reliability design with continuous duty operation up to 85A and a short-time overload of 10x rated power for five seconds.
