This 6-axis MEMS device provides accurate and reliable motion-tracking for industrial applications, optimised for performance and power efficiency in demanding environments. It is ideal for use in navigation, orientation measurements, platform stabilisation, and robotics.
Now available through Mouser, the TDK InvenSense IIM-42653 SmartIndustrial MotionTracking device combines a 3-axis gyroscope and a 3-axis accelerometer in a compact 2.5 mm x 3 mm x 0.91 mm package. With an operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C and a shock tolerance of up to 20,000g, the IIM-42653 is well-suited for challenging industrial conditions. It offers an extended full-scale range of up to 32g and 4000dps, providing robust performance in rigorous environments. The device features a 2KByte FIFO, reducing power consumption by enabling the system processor to read sensor data before switching to low-power mode.
For precision-based applications such as robotics and tilt sensing, the IIM-42653 supports an accurate external clock input. Its host interface accommodates i3C, I2C, and SPI modes, with maximum communication speeds of 12.5MHz, 1MHz, and 24MHz respectively. The i3C interface supports data rates of up to 25Mbps in DDR mode, and the device operates within a voltage range of 1.71V to 3.6V.
TDK InvenSense also provides the DK-42653 development kit for the IIM-42653. This kit includes an onboard embedded debugger and essential software, such as the InvenSense Motion Link GUI-based development tool and embedded motion drivers, ensuring a streamlined development process.
