Kontron Control Panel with the high-performance i.MX8M Plus Processor
Kontron is showcasing its innovative Control Panel product line at embedded world 2024. This lineup, leveraging cutting-edge processor technology, incorporates Kontron's advanced QIWI Toolkit for software integration, with an option for CODESYS SoftPLC utilisation.
This expansion enriches Kontron's HMI offerings with Control Panels powered by Arm NXP i.MX8M Plus processors. These panels are tailored for a wide array of applications including device and machine control as well as building automation, boasting superior computing and graphics capabilities, extensive connectivity options, and a multitude of functional features. Their versatile interface support ensures seamless interaction with various fieldbuses and the cloud, while the inclusion of an internal M.2 slot and extra expansion connectors allows for extensive customisation to cater to diverse operational needs.
Kontron maintains its commitment to aesthetic and functional design, featuring optically bonded multi-touch IPS displays ranging from 7” to 15.6” FHD. Customers can choose between aluminium or stainless-steel frames, with the units designed to withstand industrial use and ambient temperatures from 0 to +55°C. The standard models offer IP65 front protection, making them ideal for integration into control cabinets and consoles.
In addition to the Control Panels, Kontron introduces the CU and CUmini top-hat rail computers, optimal for Edge computing applications. The modular nature of the Control Panels and Units ensures they can be customised to meet specific customer needs, with the promise of short delivery times, top-notch manufacturing quality, and expert technical support. The option for CODESYS SoftPLC supports the swift and effective development of complex automation and visualisation projects.
The embedded QIWI Software Toolkit facilitates device configuration and parameterisation, including network, time, and language settings, certificate uploads for secure connections, and provides a file and package manager alongside an update management system. This toolkit enhances user interaction with the device, both directly and remotely.
Kontron anticipates the availability of the first samples in the second quarter of 2024, marking a significant milestone in offering advanced control solutions tailored for the modern industrial landscape.
