Transceiver enables more reliable wireless radio connections
Featuring a highly sensitive receiver and superior immunity to signal interferences, a low power, high performance, radio transceiver has been announced by Analog Devices. The ADF7030-1 enables more reliable wireless radio connections with fewer retries and packet losses, as well as longer battery lifetime, and features low power modes, including the industry’s lowest current in sleep mode.
Optical sensor improves gesture recognition reliability
Measuring a subject’s position, proximity and gestures from a single sensor, an optical sensor for gesture recognition has been announced by ADI. This improves sensing accuracy and reliability over existing solutions which often require multiple sensors and can be inaccurate, as the sensors 'see' objects differently from varying angles, making the signals difficult to combine.
SHARC processors enable superior sound quality
Expanding its growing series of single-chip multicore SHARC processors, Analog Devices has announced the ADSP-SC57x and ADSP-2157x processors. The devices advance the audio experience by enabling superior sound quality and more cost-effective and reliable audio systems. The platform meets automotive temperature ranges without the need for costly, bulky heat sinks or fans, which saves space in the end application.
Hot swap controllers with precision power & energy monitoring
This demonstration will offer live, high power entry, telemetry and fault protection to simulate real world challenges within the data centre, featuring the ADM1278 PMBUS hotswap controller from ADI.
Simultaneous sampling ΣΔ ADCs improve signal quality monitoring
Analog Devices has introduced a series of 24-bit simultaneous sampling ΣΔ ADCs for wide-bandwidth, high-density instrumentation, energy and healthcare equipment. The AD7768 series includes a power scalable modulator and digital filter on each channel to enable the synchronised, precise measurement of both AC and DC signals in instrumentation applications, including modular data acquisition, audio test, and asset condition mo...
Design ecosystem simplifies wireless infrastructure
To offer its customers integrated transceiver technologies, a robust design environment, and technical expertise to rapidly move radio designs from concept to creation, Analog Devices (ADI), has unveiled its new RadioVerse technology and design ecosystem.
Reduce size & power consumption in cellular radio RFFEs
Analog Devices has introduced a high power (44W peak) SPDT silicon switch that enables designers to reduce hardware size and bias power consumption in cellular radio systems. As next-gen communications infrastructure trends toward higher data capacity, cellular radio front ends must scale down in size and provide faster speeds to meet the demands of increased data usage.
Processing, gate drivers & sensors create power conversion platform
At PCIM Europe 2016, Analog Devices demonstrates the integration of processing, gate driving and sensing components in a power conversion platform for next-gen solar power, energy storage and EV infrastructure applications.
Smart monitoring system reduces parking frustration
Analog Devices has collaborated with Cambridge Consultants on a cost-effective, smart monitoring system that helps ease parking frustrations for drivers. The innovative system saves drivers time and makes parking easier by monitoring space occupancy for on-street and indoor garage parking spaces without adding expensive infrastructure.
IoT solution optimises athlete & team performance
Analog Devices, Microsoft and Hexoskin have collaborated regarding a unique, wearable IoT solution for athlete and team performance management. The IoT solution allows coaches and team staff to monitor player information such as motion, heart rate and other useful health and performance metrics from sensor-equipped vests worn by players.
ADI & LifeQ to improve body monitoring effectiveness
Analog Devices has announced a collaboration with LifeQ to develop technology that will make it possible for non-invasive body monitoring devices to provide highly accurate physiological data that currently is only available through the use of expensive, invasive and hard-to-access equipment.
Acquisition enhances IoT portfolio
A Swiss-based specialist in vision sensing technologies, SNAP Sensor, has been acquired by Analog Devices. The company claim the acquisition will advance its position in sensing and signal processing and build upon platform level Internet of Things (IoT) solutions such as ADI’s Blackfin Low Power Imaging Platform (BLiP).
LDO duo eliminates system noise for audio quality
Two low voltage dropout regulators (LDOs) from Analog Devices eliminate unwanted system noise and improve receiver, transmitter, and audio quality in wireless base stations, wired communications, industrial instrumentation, audio equipment, and medical devices, claims the company.
PMU enables more efficient energy harvesting
Analog Devices has announced a PMU (Power Management Unit) designed to enable faster and more efficient energy harvesting in IoT applications where energy is scarce. Due to its unique circuit design, the ADP509x is among the most efficient energy harvesting PMUs on the market, converting harvested power down to 16μW with only sub-μW operation losses.
Platform enables inverter technology to lower solar energy cost
Analog Devices has introduced a revolutionary addition to its power conversion platform with an innovative series of mixed-signal control processors. The ADSP-CM41x series is designed to dramatically simplify system design, lower cost, and improve efficiency and safety in solar, energy storage and EV infrastructure.
MCUs enable longer battery life in IoT applications
Analog Devices has announced its ADuCM302x series of ultra-low power MCUs designed to enable longer battery life and lower operating costs in IoT applications without sacrificing security and reliability functions. Consuming less than 38uA/MHz of current in active mode and less than 750nA in standby mode, the ADuCM302x MCUs enable longer operation between battery replacements or recharging, providing a better end-user experience and lower mainten...
Material analysis made easier with sensor-to-cloud IoT platform
