Pasternack Enterprises has introduced a family of high frequency, WR-15 waveguide antennas operating over a range of 50-70GHz. The antennas are designed for high-bandwidth applications including point-to-point links, GigE wireless LAN, millimetre radiometry, uncompressed HD video, FMCW radar, millimetre scintillometry, campus networks, and multi-gigabit wireless communications.

Offered in this release are four high gain WR-15 horn antennas available in 20, 24, 34 and 42dBi gain models. Pasternack’s WR-15 waveguide horn antennas pairs seamlessly with the recently added 60GHz transmit/receive development system (PEM003-KIT) which enables companies to experiment and develop applications in the globally-unlicensed 60GHz frequency band. Using two of Pasternack’s WR-15 beam antennas rated to 42dBi gain (PE9881-42), a user is able to transmit and receive a 60GHz signal at a distance of one kilometre (km), making these antennas suited for high frequency point-to-point backhaul.

Also available is Pasternack’s omni-directional millimetre wave antenna (PE-W15A001), a vertically polarised WR-15 waveguide connected antenna using a standard UG387/U flange that operates over a range of 58-63GHz. This omni-directional millimetre wave antenna has a 30° vertical beam width and a 360° horizontal gain variation, making it suitable for short range wireless communications, indoor networks, high frequency applications and 60GHz development systems. The millimetre wave omni-directional antenna is constructed with a durable brass waveguide input and light-weight aluminium body.

Gerry Camacho, Vice President, Technical Marketing, Pasternack, commented: “The addition of these 60 GHz WR-15 antennas is a great complement to our growing lines of millimetre wave products that help address the emerging markets around 60GHz technology."

The millimetre wave antennas with a WR-15 waveguide flange as well as the 60GHz transmit/receive development system are in-stock and available to ship from Pasternack now.
