Broadband low noise amplifier GaAs MMIC
Nisshinbo Micro Devices has launched the NJG1188KG1 intended for BS/CS TV, TV Tuner Module, STB and other broadcasting applications.
The NJG1188KG1 is a groundbreaking broadband LNA that provides a wide bandwidth supporting conventional Broadcasting Satellite (BS) and Communications Satellite (CS) services and 4K and 8K broadcasting satellite services (advanced BS and CS).
High gain and low distortion characteristics over a wide bandwidth:
Traditional circuits for Low Noise Amplifiers require a frequency range from 950 to 2150 MHz for broadcasting satellite bandwidth and 2150 to 3224 MHz for advanced BS and CS bandwidth. However, the NJG1188KG1 can support the entire bandwidth from 950 to 3224 MHz. Typically, wider bandwidth results in degraded gain and distortion characteristics. Nevertheless, our exclusive technology achieves high gain and low distortion over a broad bandwidth, enhancing receiver sensitivity.
Reduction of the number of components:
The NJG1188KG1 can receive signals across the entire 950 to 3224 MHz bandwidth, eliminating the need for additional diplexers and decreasing the number of LNAs by one. Diplexers are components used to combine or separate signals in different frequency bands. Minimising the number of components on the PCB can be particularly important in applications where space constraints are a concern, such as in satellite communication equipment or compact consumer devices. This approach not only reduces the overall cost but also has fewer potential points of failure, enhancing the longevity and reliability of the system. The package used for the NJG1188KG1 is an ESON6-G1, measuring 1.6 x 1.6 x 0.397 mm.
