Which European electronics events should you attend in 2024?

As a publication which prides themselves on reaching electronics engineers at the heart of events, we decided to give you this insight on the top shows on our calendar for 2024. Whilst we have a comprehensive list of events you can find here, these are some of the big ones standing out for 2024.

Listed in date order, these events are all of importance depending on how you fit within the industry - whilst the event list can help you find shows which are more niche and relevant to your field.

Mobile World Congress, Barcelona

28-29 February

Kicking off the year of electronics, MWC Barcelona is the flagship event for MWC with big names on the keynote list the agenda will be exploring telecoms, AI & mobiles, as well as an increasing stream of content from 4FYN their combined startup show. This behemoth of an exhibition is one of the largest in the world for attendees with 88.5K in 2023, and 2.4K exhibitors. Arrive with a plan for who you want to see and hear or prepare to get a little lost in the innovations.

LOPEC, Munich

5-7 March

With a conference starting on the 5^th of March and the exhibition taking place from the 6^th, LOPEC offers a hub for engineers involved with flexible, organic and printed electronics. In 2023, the event boasted a robust presence with 168 exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge innovations, and attracted over 2.5K visitors, underlining its significance as a vibrant hub for industry networking and exploration.

Embedded World, Nuremberg

9-11 April

It is often mentioned among the top electronics shows to attend globally, so it’s certainly on our EU list. In comparison to electronica, Embedded World is often referred to as an event which allows attendees more consideration time and a ‘workshop’ for industry professionals. Known to draw in high-level decision-makers, Embedded World falls into the event calendar for over 27,000 attendees and 950 exhibitors, with an increase of 50% in 2023.

SPS, Parma

23-25 May

The key show for the manufacturing industry, 2023 saw 38,713 visitors and 812 exhibitors. The event serves as a dynamic platform for showcasing innovations in the manufacturing sector, fostering collaborations, and staying updated on the latest trends. As SPS continues to grow in prominence, it remains an essential destination for those looking to explore the intersection of electronics and manufacturing. Hardware Pioneers MAX, London

28-29 May

Fast becoming a key date in the diary, this small but mighty show is building traction in the electronics engineering community. Simon Ford, Founder at Beacon counts amongst the essentials to attend, and so do 2,000 other electronics engineers. As the event continues to build momentum, it provides an intimate yet impactful setting for professionals to connect, share insights, and explore the latest developments in the electronics landscape. PCIM stand image 2023

PCIM, Nuremberg

11-13 June

If you are working in power electronics this show is not to be missed. Specialising in power electronics, intelligent motion and energy management, PCIM offers electronics engineers a more specific opportunity for Power. In 2023, 16,550 attendees explored product innovations and industry solutions from 507 exhibitors across a 30,000 sqm exhibition space and is on course for a record in 2024.

EuMW, Paris

22-27 September

This year, EuMW returns to Paris. Pre-COVID, this proved a popular exhibitor space for the show with lots of reader interest. Whilst the conference is the main draw, the exhibitors have a lot to offer attendees and the show provides a productive space for networking. In 2024, EuMW expect to welcome 4,000 attendees and 1,500 conference delegates.

Electronica, Munich

12-15 November

electronica is certainly on the list. Held every alternate year, it is a behemoth of an event with 69,783 attendees and 2,140 exhibitors and its almost impossible to squeeze all the meetings you need to into a single week, but goodness do the attendees really try! If you mean business you would do well to be seen at electronica. Described as the ‘party’ of the industry, there’s lots of after-parties and dinners to attend to make sure every hour in Munich is used to the fullest.

Also, Productronica & Semicon in Munich in November 2025.
