The quest for innovation

Every year, EDS provides an opportunity to explore trends and new developments in the market and find out how they can help you to innovate. The technology demonstrators on the company’s stand this year will show how its edge suppliers are embracing the very latest in processing, connectivity, power, and imaging.

Secure, connected IoT applications continue to be a key theme, and the stand will feature state-of-the-art processors and embedded systems with connectivity solutions including both wired and wireless technologies. Also on show will be the wide range of routers and gateways for industrial, transportation and enterprise applications, plus IP-rated enclosed solutions for outdoor deployments.

Microchip’s FPGAs deliver the industry’s lowest power at mid-range densities with exceptional security and reliability, providing flexible logic at the heart of many Machine Vision and AI applications and also available with full Mil/Aero product capabilities. Solid State Supplies will be running a facial recognition demonstration showcasing the capabilities of Microchip PolarFire FPGAs.

On the sensors front, there will be a live demonstration of a Monitran vibration sensor detecting and outputting the seismic activity as people move around the stand. There’ll be a magnetic hall effect demo from MDT (Multiple Dimension Technology), an air quality sensor demo from Amphenol, plus sensor solutions for detecting acceleration, positioning, temperature, humidity, pressure, and light.

Quectel’s comprehensive device-to-Cloud solution includes modules, antenna, SIM connectivity, and the Cloud platform. There'll be live demonstrations of asset tagging, tracking, and management functionalities and also home automation features for smart home transformation, highlighting convenience, security, and energy efficiency.

Imaging technology demos will feature Omnivision’s miniature endoscopic medical camera subsystem (comprising camera cable module and Image Signal Processing boards) plus Excelitas sensors, Mitsubishi thermal imaging, ESPROS Time-of-Flight, InnoSenT radar sensors and Optotune liquid polymer lenses.

The company will also exhibit the range of standard TFT LCD, OLED and transparent EL display modules and touchscreens, including round, square and stretch aspect ratios with wide colour gamut, high brightness and wide temperature range.

With up to DC - 53GHz bandwidth, low insertion loss, high isolation, and high repeatability, Teledyne coax switches are used to support SATCOM, aviation, military and commercial telecommunications, medical imaging, and ATE systems. The plan is to showcase reed relays with a Standex level sensor demo.

Durakool is a globally renowned manufacturer of contactors, relays, and resistors, providing solutions for power electronics, industrial electronics, automotive and telecommunications applications. Durakool uses novel techniques to reduce package size whilst meeting increasing demands for higher voltage and higher current switching. The demonstration of a HVDC contactor shows the internal structure and how it operates.
