At ECOC 2014, 22nd to 24th September, in Cannes, France, Keysight Technologies will demonstrate test and measurement solutions to advance communications beyond 400Gbps in telecomms, data centre and computing. Products exhibited from Stand 368 will include the M8195A arbitrary waveform generator.

Keysight has claimed that the digital and arbitrary signal generator has the highest speed, bandwidth and channel density. The company has also claimed that it is the most versatile signal generator up to 32GBaud and beyond, suitable for PAM-4 signal generation to test high-speed ICs and for coherent signal generation to test high-speed optical links.

The Keysight Lightwave Component Analyzer is an NIST traceable, turn-key solution for electro-optical component characterisation is based on the company's performance network analyser. With bandwidths up to 67GHz the analyser characterises balanced electro-optical components for coherent transmission and supports 56G-CEI characterisation.

The Keysight N4391A optical modulation analyser and compact N4392A integrated optical modulation analyser enable coherent transmission beyond 400Gbps using the industry’s most flexible optical and electrical real-time modulation analysis system. Both solutions enable smart signal analysis for coherent transmitter and receiver research combined with multi-format complex signal generation.

Company representatives will demonstrate how to make accurate generation and characterisation of PAM-4 signals using the M8000 series, 86100D Infiniium DCA-X and Infiniium Z-series oscilloscope. Precise characterisation of 100GbE optical receivers and transmitters can be achieved with the J-BERT M8020A High-Performance BERT, the Lightwave measurement system and the 86100D Infiniium DCA-X.

Other test solutions and technical discussions will include:

  • Making swept-wavelength measurements of passive and integrated receiver components with polarisation dependence.
  • Learn about the latest updates on implemented compliance test applications for OIF-CEI 3.0, SFF-8431, IEEE 80.23 KR and other communication standards for computing and data centres, running on the digital communications analyser.
  • Learn how to anticipate problems and provide 1st-pass PCBs for DOCSIS, PCIe, USB, DDR designs and more optical & electronic architectures and PCB implementations with dedicated software based solutions such as SystemVue, ADS, EMPro.
  • See Keysight’s new official eBay store where Keysight premium used and Keysight used products with savings of 20% are available. ECOC attendees will receive an additional 10% discount when buying any Keysight N77xx models at the eBay store during the event.
