Telematics China Summit to discuss industry changes

Scheduled to take place 4-5 September in Shanghai, 'the 4th Annual Telematics China Summit 2014' will explore changes in the industry. With Volvo launching its Sensus system in July, Alibaba acquiring AutoNavi in February and Tencent buying a stake in Navinfo, the event provides visitors with the opportunity to meet with major market players, find out how the industry will change and identify business development opportunities.

'The 4th Annual Telematics China Summit' will feature speakers from industry leading associations and companies, including: The Advisory Committee for State Informatization, National Standardization Technical Committee on Logistics, Connected Vehicle Trade Association, Ford, Nissan, Volvo, GM, BYD, BMW, Daimler, KINGLONG G-BOS and Busap.

President of Connected Vehicle Trade Association, Mr. Scott McCormick will give a presentation entitled 'Fundamental Issues to Address to Advance the Connected Vehicle'. Providing a global view of the best practices of Telematics, the presentation will address the three key enablers for widespread adoption and deployment of connected vehicles, and how it is being addressed. Director of EESE, PD, Volvo Car China, Mr. Brian Tian will introduce Volvo's Telematics Development Strategy. This will include its Sensus system now, Sensus in next generation SPA platforms and Sensus for 2020.

Two workshops will also be hosted at the event, 'Fleet Management' and 'Insurance Telematics', providing a 360 degree view regarding future applications and trends. In the 'Fleet Management' workshop, Dr. Wei Zhou, Vice Director, Ministry of Transport, Highway Research Institute, Motor Transport Technology Research Center, will present 'How Telematics Will Advance the Development of Transportation Industry Safety'. This well help attendees to understand the requirement of transportation development; developing status of M2M and telematics; intelligent and networked based transportation and how telematics promote the safety and efficiency of transportation.

Mr. Dingyi Dai, Deputy Director, Commissioner, The Advisory Committee for State Informatization, National Standardization Technical Committee on Logistics, will present 'The Framework of Logistics'. this workshop will help attendees to understand the role of information in logistics, improve service values, new models of resource integrations, innovations of process management values, M2M technology innovations (sensing technology, mobile communication, data integration and process), smart logistics' new development objective, value points, data resources economics, background of telematics projects, application objectives, interpretations of the five orders of the ministry of transportation, communications in 2014 and outlook of the future.

Mr. Chuangang Wang, Deputy Director, CARWINGS Development & Operation, Dongfeng Nissan, will introduce the Nissan Connected Service Business Model Sharing. Attendees can learn how Nissan profit from connected services, understand Nissan connected service business scales, understand the basic product models, understand the service business modes, learn the customer operations models, understand the new perspective of internet content and understand Nissan's strategy towards UBI. Mr. Bo Yuan, Vice President, Busap Holding Company, will present innovative business models for the company's in car WiFi.
