Space-Comm Expo 2024 solidified its reputation as a premier event for the UK's space industry, breaking previous records with over 100 speakers, 170 exhibitors, and 4,500 attendees.

These attendees included notable figures from government, business, aerospace, and defence sectors, gathering at Farnborough on 6-7th March.

Organised by Hub Exhibitions, Space-Comm Expo is central to the UK's aspirations and the burgeoning global space economy, which is characterised by government and business cooperation as well as rapid advancements in science and technology. This collaboration is paving the way for the commercial exploitation of space. Noteworthy exhibitors at the event included leading entities such as Airbus, Astroscale, BAE, Endurosat, and many others from both the UK and the international space ecosystem.

Dr Paul Bate, Chief Executive of the UK Space Agency, said: “This year’s Space-Comm Expo has been a fantastic event, with so much excitement and energy across the two days.We have seen and heard from much of the UK space sector and beyond, with everyone here united in championing the benefits of space for our prosperity and protection on Earth.”

Following five successful years, the event's organisers, Hub Exhibitions, have announced a relocation of the event to London's ExCeL in 2025, aiming to attract a larger audience and expand into a series of three events. The 2025 Space-Comm Expo at London ExCeL, set for 11-12th March, will feature Professor Brian Cox and space business innovator Will Whitehorn. Additionally, Space-Comm Expo Scotland and Space-Comm Expo Dubai are scheduled for September 2024 and May 2025, respectively.

This year's Space-Comm Expo saw participation from key figures such as UK Minister of State for Science, Research and Innovation Andrew Griffith MP, and astronaut Axiom 3 Commander Michael Lopez-Algeria, alongside leaders from prominent space organisations and delegations from around the world.

Doug Liddle from BAE Systems Digital Intelligence highlighted the strategic importance of the event, saying: “As a key sponsor of Space-Comm Expo 2024, we see the event as a strategic opportunity for us to engage with existing and potential future industry partners and customers, but also for recruitment and STEM outreach. The event continues to get bigger and better each year, and we’re proud to be a part of it.”

Kata Escott of Airbus Defence and Space UK shared her perspective: “Space-Comm Expo is a brilliant opportunity to connect with our partners in industry, academia, and government, to deepen our collaboration and grow our sector in the UK. It’s great to speak there about the work Airbus is leading to connect, grow, and inspire our ecosystem.”

Patrick Biver from Moog Europe also expressed his support: “As an active member of the UK space industry, Moog is pleased to once again sponsor and exhibit at this year’s Space-Comm Expo. The show continues to grow and highlight the many exciting opportunities across the sector.”

The UK space industry is increasingly prominent, contributing £17.5bn to the economy and aiming to capture 10% of the global market by 2030. Space-Comm Expo, now in its fifth year, has been acclaimed for its unique format that fosters industry collaboration and showcases new technologies.

Space-Comm Expo uniquely brings together a diverse group of stakeholders, including government and business leaders, astronauts, and academics, to discuss the industry's foremost challenges and opportunities for humanity, representing both leading and emerging space nations.

Supported by major associations and industry partners such as Airbus, BAE Systems, and Lockheed Martin, Space-Comm Expo plays a crucial role in driving forward the space industry's agenda.
