At the NEC, Birmingham on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th September 2017, Sensors & Instrumentation returns. And in line with the show’s continued growth, it’s moving to the larger and more accessible hall 1, located right at the NEC’s main entrance. Over 80 suppliers will be at the show to demonstrate all the latest products and solutions, with exciting feature areas and seminars adding more value to the visitor experience.

Exhibitors include Binder, Bronkhorst UK, Dewesoft, EA Technology, Fischer Connectors, Gantner Instruments, Huba , Infratec, Innovative Sensor Technology IST, Jumo Instrument, Keller, Korea Railroad Research Institute, Lighthouse (UK), M+P International, Meggit Sensing Systems, KDP Electronics, Metasphere, Michell Instruments, PR Electronics, Pressure Sensor Limited, Sensor Technology, Shawcity, Techni Measure, Visual UK, Yokogawa UK and many more.

Ian Goldsbrough, Sales Manager for IR Detectors in the UK & Ireland explained the company’s reasons for exhibiting at the show this year: “Back in 2011 we were fairly new to selling direct to the UK market so needed a platform to reach new potential customers for our sensors and the Sensor Technology exhibition, which became Sensors & Instrumentation, seemed the obvious place. Although then the exhibition was quite small, it attracted the right sort on companies for our product and we have therefore taken a stand every year since.”

Ian continued: “Over the years I have seen the exhibition grow both in the number of companies exhibiting and visitors attending. The quality of the visitors remains high because it is such a dedicated show for the sensors and instrumentation industry and it is the only one in the UK. If you have not attended before give it a try, I’m sure you will find it worthwhile.”

As the UK’s only national sensors event, Sensors & Instrumentation is renowned as a hotbed of new technology. Michell Instruments is one of many exhibitors to be launching new products, including the HygroSmart HS3 probe and HygroCal100 humidity verifier.

Dave Boylan, Area Sales Manager for Innovative Sensor Technology IST in the UK and Ireland commented: “At the upcoming Sensors & Instrumentation show, IST AG will be featuring, amongst others, thin-film capacitive relative humidity sensors, which are capable of measuring 0% RH to 100% RH and operating at temperature ranges of -80 to 190°C.”

Kyungwho Choi, Ph.D, Senior Researcher at Korea Railroad Research Institute, said: “We decided to join the exhibition because we thought it would be a great opportunity to introduce our hybrid interrogation system to global experts interested in SHM or railroad infrastructure monitoring using electric and optical sensors with IoT technologies.”

Chris Anderson is director of sales and marketing at Pressure Sensor Ltd. He says: “We are exhibiting again at Sensors & Instrumentation to enhance our relationship with existing customers, have the opportunity to discuss our new products and to meet new contacts, as well as to evaluate market developments and trends.”

Exhibitors will also have the chance to showcase their products and solutions to a dedicated audience - live on stage - as part of the brand new and fully interactive feature area Connecting Industry LIVE! Neil Mead, managing editor of the industrial division explained: “The Live Demo Stage will be the centrepiece of this new event where exhibitors will have the opportunity to show the audience what they can offer via live technical product demonstrations. This will also give visitors the chance to learn and understand how these could benefit their own particular manufacturing operations and applications.”

The Innovation Showcase meanwhile is returning for a third year running. Located at a key destination point within the hall, this too has been expanded to allow even more exhibitors to display their latest products and technology.

This year’s show will also see the return of the popular seminar programme. Registration for Sensors & Instrumentation will open in May.
