Security enhancement for HF smart label products

NXP Semiconductors N.V. has introduced ICODE DNA to its family of ICODE products. As part of its continuing commitment to deliver secure identification solutions, NXP’s ICODE DNA enhances security for vicinity applications by enabling tag authentication and privacy protection based on cryptographic security. NXP will showcase its ICODE DNA device, with products and customer programmable originality signatures at RFID Journal Live, May 3-5th, in Orlando, Florida, booth, 804.

NXP’s family of ICODE products is an industry leader for HF smart label solutions with billions of ICS in the field and thousands of successful installations. The  ICODE DNA device combines traditional ICODE best-in-class features such as exceptional RF performance, but now includes AES cryptographic authentication, NFC readability and cloud connectivity.

The customer programmable originality signature is an additional feature that, in connection with the NFC phone readability, will open a range of possibilities for our customers’ clients.”

According to R&D team leaders at Techsun Group ICODE DNA represents a fundamental approach to ensure authenticity of its clients’ products such as liquors which are targeted at counterfeiters and illicit trade. NXP’s ICODE chips provide traceability from source to sale along the supply chain, are easy to integrate and allow protection of luxury brands. 

NXP ICODE DNA provides cryptographic authentication to enable privacy protection and uses through ISO/IEC 29167-10 standardised tag authentication. Its cryptographic security uses three 128-bit keys based on AES (advanced encryption standard) algorithms. The high data integrity of 16-bit CRC framing and 53 kbit/s fast data transfer leads to fast anti-collision read. The persistent quiet mode feature allows for faster inventory speed than before. 

ICODE DNA provides medical equipment, high-value brand manufacturers and suppliers convenient document tracking and authentication from source to sale along the supply chain. Additionally, system integration can be made easy with a broad range of supporting tools.
