SECO has announced its participation in the inaugural embedded world North America, taking place in Austin, Texas, from 8-10th October 2024.

This US-based event, organised by the same team behind the embedded world Exhibition & Conference in Nuremberg, Germany, offers a valuable opportunity for attendees to explore SECO’s solutions tailored for the North American market. SECO’s US-based engineering and operations teams will be on hand to provide insight into the company’s offerings.

At booth #2315, SECO will display its wide range of embedded hardware products and its powerful IoT software suite, Clea. Additionally, visitors will experience demos of SECO’s Edge AI capabilities, showcasing partnerships with leading technology providers, including Qualcomm and Axelera AI.

Featured products

SECO will present a broad selection of embedded computing solutions and rugged smart display products, highlighting its Modular Vision series of human-machine interface (HMI) panel PCs. Available in standard screen sizes of 7, 10.1, and 15.6”, these panel PCs feature touch displays, wired and wireless networking, and industrial peripheral interfaces, offering up to 4K resolution. The Modular Vision series is available with Arm and x86 processors, providing versatility across different computing environments.

SECO’s lineup also includes a diverse range of off-the-shelf computing modules, powered by Qualcomm, NXP, Intel, and MediaTek processors across both x86 and Arm architectures. At the event, visitors will be able to see products like the SOM-SMARC-MX93, SOM-COMe-BT6-RPL-P, SOM-COM-HPC-A-MTL, and SBC-pITX-EHL.

SECO’s fully packaged industrial PCs, built for reliability, flexibility, and security, will also be on display. These certified boxed solutions, including the new Palladio 500 RPL, Modular Link MX93, and Titan 300 TGL-UP3 AI, offer a range of performance options to suit various industrial applications.

Development kits for rapid prototyping

Two new development kits for SMARC CoMs will be showcased, with a focus on SECO’s Qualcomm-based SOM-SMARC-QCS6490 processor module. The SMARC Qualcomm Starter Kit features a 3.5” form-factor carrier board with multiple interfaces, supporting mPCIe and M.2 plug-in modules. Designed to accelerate product development, this kit is ideal for rapid proof of concept.

The second kit focuses on early-stage prototyping and software development. Its larger carrier board offers extended functionality, making it perfect for experimentation and fine-tuning product architectures before creating a custom carrier solution.

SECO’s IoT software suite: Clea

SECO’s hardware seamlessly integrates with Clea, its IoT software suite. Clea is fully open source and compatible with any cloud provider or on-premises infrastructure, offering robust capabilities for operational data management, remote infrastructure oversight, and AI applications.

A key highlight at the event will be Clea OS, a new addition to SECO’s software lineup. This industrial-grade Linux operating system is built on the open-source Yocto Project and designed for edge IoT device deployment. Clea OS simplifies system configuration, allowing engineers to focus on accelerating product development. It works not only with SECO Edge products but also with third-party hardware, offering flexibility in IoT infrastructure management.

Demos: showcasing SECO’s Edge AI capabilities

In addition to its product offerings, SECO will conduct two live demos highlighting its Edge AI capabilities. The first demo focuses on Edge AI-driven security and situational awareness. Using the Palladio 500 RPL embedded computer with a 13th Gen Intel Core processor, integrated with an Axelera Metis AIPU, the system will perform real-time video analysis and AI-powered feature extraction from multiple live camera feeds.

The second demo introduces the concept of running Large Language Models (LLM) at the Edge, developed by SECO’s team of data scientists and AI specialists. This emerging technology allows LLMs to function autonomously without Cloud support, reducing latency, and enhancing data security in network-constrained environments.

SECO will be exhibiting at booth #2315 at embedded world North America in Austin, Texas, from 8-10th October 2024. Visitors are invited to explore SECO’s advanced embedded computing solutions, IoT software, and Edge AI technologies.
