On 13th and 14th June, internationally renowned specialists will gather at the Unmanned Cargo Aircraft conference (UCA, including aircraft, ships and ground vehicles as well their logistics) and discuss the latest developments, challenges and prospects of the unmanned world. UCA are about to bring massive disruptions to the transport sector.

Stakeholders active in this industry have to adapt their organisations accordingly in order to optimise operations and revenues. UCA offer increased productivity and can open up markets in areas where manned transport is uneconomical and geographically limited.

The UCA conferences bring together technology leaders, cargo operators and end users to share the status of these exciting opportunities. The conference also addresses the benefits of unmanned cargo for military purpose such as unmanned transport in high risk areas.

Focus topics:

  • Long Range/Medium-High Payload Systems
  • Specialised/Irregular Delivery Systems
  • Urban Delivery Systems
  • Military Systems
  • Autonomous operation architecture
  • Regulatory issues
  • New value chains/business models

The logistics industry is gearing up for possibly the biggest challenge in its history. Still in its infancy, research and development projects into unmanned cargo initiatives and smart logistics are aiming to bring about massive disruptions in the global transportation industry throughout the entire logistics value chain. One of the conferences addresses the impact of digitalisation of logistics processes on efficiency and profitability.

In those two days many topics will be discussed, like: remote control technology, security, legal and liability implications, autonomous operations architecture, human factors and new value chains. A rough selection of the speakers is; Arwen Korteweg - Port of Rotterdam, Johann Dauer - German Aerospace Center (DLR), Moshe Attar - Israel Aircraft Industries, Christiana Pagni - Tecnomar Liguiria Consortium, Wojcieck Paprocki - Warszaw School of Economics, Laurens Schrijnen - Rijkswaterstaat, Burkhard Stadlmann - University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, Julio Gil - UPS en Holger Heckmann - Ahrma Pooling.
