Plessey to unveil Orion LED modules at LuxLive
Plessey is to unveil additions to its Orion LED module family based on Stellar beam forming technology at LuxLive (London, November 23-24 2016, stand M8). The new modules will form an interchangeable family, allowing lighting designers to simply and easily substitute modules to create a family of compact luminaires suitable for a wide range of lighting applications.
The recently announced Plessey Orion PLWS3000 series module represented a size and performance breakthrough for LED lighting modules giving architectural and industrial lighting designers a new level of design freedom.
By integrating the LED and optics into a tiny module, the Orion module delivers over 3000 lumens from a unit just 5.6mm thick and 82mm in diameter. It uses Plessey’s Stellar beam forming technology to achieve a powerful and highly directional beam from such a slim module. Key features include improved light uniformity and excellent thermal performance.
Paul Drosihn, Plessey’s Head of Modular Products, said, “By integrating the LED module with the optics, Plessey has delivered the next phase in LED lighting with low cost, high efficiency and greater control of light. We believe that Orion modules will transform the design of retail, industrial, hospitality and outdoor lighting. The improved thermal characteristics allows the heat sink to be reduced in size enabling further size reductions in the end fixture.”
The new Orion module is also featured on the new Plessey website: www.plesseysemiconductors.com. The site provides full details of Plessey lighting solutions for architectural, commercial, industrial, outdoor and residential applications.
These include Stellar Orion and Custom modules, LED modules and light engines as well as Plessey low, medium and high power LEDs. Plessey grow lighting for horticultural applications is also featured on the site.
