At SEMICON West, which takes place from 14th to 15th July in San Francisco, CA, Pickering Interfaces will showcase its catalogue of PXI and Ethernet LXI switching solutions on booth 6367. These products include Pickering’s PXI power relays, PXI RF matrices, PXI microwave multiplexers, PXI battery simulators, and PXI & LXI chassis.

The company’s 16A PXI power multiplexers are available in seven configurations ranging from 2:1 to 16:1. Careful attention to the switching design ensures that the devices can carry the full 16A current on each path simultaneously over the complete operating temperature range. The PXI power multiplexers are also capable of switching 300VDC or 250VAC.

The PXI programmable resistor and relay modules have 12 channel options with resolutions of 0.25 to 2Ω and channel counts of two or four. The devices have the option of eight extra SPST relays that can be used for extending the resistance range or for other switching functions within a test system. All versions use high-quality instrument grade reed relays to ensure long service life and fast setting times.

The PXI microwave multiplexers support single, dual, or triple SP4T or SP6T relays and are available in a variety of different frequency options for 50Ω, from 6GHz to 40GHz. All models occupy just two 3U PXI slots and feature LED’s that indicate which path of the multiplexer is closed.

Featuring high-density packaging and integrated backplanes, the PXI BRIC family of large matrix modules and multiplexers feature high-density packaging and integrated backplanes, which enables them to be implemented with no user configuration or special matrix expansion cabling. These matrices use thru-hole relays and can be serviced using standard de-soldering tools, simplifying repair and reducing down time. The integrated design ensures high matrix performance with high signal bandwidth and fewer system implementation errors.

The LXI wideband modular matrix offers an RF solution that can be easily reconfigured by the removal and insertion of sub-cards. This matrix provides routing for up to 16 of 104 X connections simultaneously to 16 measuring devices on the Y-axis with a usable BW of 500MHz. The Large Hadron Collider at the European Organization for Nuclear Research, known as CERN, chose this matrix for the switching system to be deployed on its Oasis monitoring system.

At the trade show, Pickering Interfaces will also highlight its eBIRST switching system test tools. These tools, designed specifically for the company’s PXI, PCI or LXI (Ethernet) products, simplify switching system faultfinding by quickly testing the system and graphically identifying the faulty relays.
