Motiv8 kicked off its 2015 workshop programme with its own version of the Boat Race staging events in Cambridge and Oxford. While holding the events in the same week may have split the audience it also delivered groups of serious engineers who used the time to both attend the technical presentations and engage all the exhibitors in conversation during the breaks.

Most exhibitors reported the gold dust of exhibitions - new faces. “At Cambridge everyone I met was a new contact. We have sold an oscilloscope to one delegate.”

An exhibitor at the Oxford event was heading back to Cambridge that evening for a follow up meeting to dot I’s and cross t’s on an order.

Ineltek used the workshops to introduce Bosch Sensortec, its latest franchise signing.

“It’s a great signing,” says Shaun O’Brien, Ineltek UK Technical Director. “It fits perfectly into our line card and addresses the hot topics of the Internet of Things and wearables.”

Ineltek UK was actively promoting and supporting the new BNO055 Xplained Pro extension board which allows rapid evaluation of Bosch Sensortec’s BNO055 9-axis Absolute Orientation Sensor device within Atmel’s popular Xplained platform.

Motiv8’s attention now turns to the next staging of its successful in house events with Jaguar LandRover on April 21. The day allows ten sponsors to participate in a desk top exhibition and stage workshops at Jaguar Land Rover’s Gaydon headquarters. Attendees are exclusively JLR engineers working on all aspects of car electronics.

Motiv8 then returns to the Williams F1 Conference Centre at Grove near Oxford on June 16 to host a LED & Lighting and RF and Wireless one day forum. The same format will be taken to the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground on June 18.
