Microsemi will be participating in embedded world 2017 14th-16th March 2017 at the Exhibition Centre in Nuremburg, Germany. Microsemi will be exhibiting in hall 1, booth 1-660, where experts will be on hand to discuss the company’s recently introduced cost-optimised lowest power PolarFire Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) family and demonstrate its Libero SoC PolarFire software, motor control and thermal imaging solutions; LX3301 inductive sensor interface integrated circuit and RISC-V Intellectual Property (IP) core running on an IGLOO 2 FPGA device.

The company will also be hosting the Microsemi Security Forum, a one-day forum focused on the technology needed to secure critical infrastructure, on Tuesday 14th March from 9:45am to 4:30pm, followed by a networking reception at Microsemi’s booth. During the forum, Microsemi security experts will provide an in-depth overview of the company's most advanced secure FPGAs and System-on-Chip (SoC) FPGAs, cryptographically secure Ethernet and storage products and GPS security solutions.

At embedded world on Wednesday 15th March from 2-2:30pm, Ted Marena, Director of SoC FPGA marketing for Microsemi, will share his expertise in a presentation titled, “What is SEU and How to Leverage SEU Immune Devices for Safety Critical Designs.” Marena will also be presenting “Demystifying IEEE 1588 for Industrial Designs” at the tradeshow on Thursday 16th March from 10-10:30am. Richard Newell, Senior Principal Product Architect for Microsemi’s SoC Products Group, will be teaching an Embedded World session titled, “Security-Hardened RISC-V Microprocessors” on 15th March from 10:30-11am during class 11: The ESCRYPT Class: A Multi-Layered Approach to Embedded Security.

In addition, Microsemi will be hosting an in-booth theatre with informative sessions named, “Rethink FPGAs: Microsemi FPGA Forum,” 14th-16th March during embedded world exhibition hours. These sessions will focus on Microsemi’s new mid-range density PolarFire FPGA family, FPGA-based functional safety and the RISC-V soft IP processor core for embedded designs led by Rick O’Connor, Executive Director of the RISC-V Foundation. PolarFire and RISC-V sessions will also be hosted at the Arrow Electronics booth number 4A-340.

WHY: The embedded world conference spans the entire spectrum of hardware, software and tools for the development of embedded systems. As the conference focuses on embedded systems, Microsemi’s PolarFire FPGA applications for industry 4.0 as well as those for the broader industrial market will be highlighted at the trade show, including factory automation, industrial Ethernet switches, video and image processing, machine vision, programmable logic controllers, portable test equipment and medical.

WHERE: Microsemi’s Embedded World booth 1-660 is located in hall 1 at the Exhibition Centre located at Messezentrum 1, 90471 in Nuremberg, Germany. The company’s Security Forum will take place in the Exhibition Centre, first level, NCC Mitte, room Munchen 2, and feature presentations from several Microsemi experts, including a lunchtime keynote by the company’s Chief Technology Officer Jim Aralis.

WHEN: Microsemi’s involvement in the conference will take place 14th-16th March during show hours.

  • Microsemi’s Security Forum will take place 14th March from 9:45am-4:30pm local time with a networking event following the forum.
  • During class 11: The ESCRYPT Class: A Multi-Layered Approach to Embedded Security, Newell’s session titled, “Security-hardened RISC-V Microprocessors” will take place 15th March from 10:30-11am local time.
  • Marena’s “What is SEU and How to Leverage SEU Immune Devices for Safety Critical Designs” presentation will take place 15th March from 2-2:30pm local time and “Demystifying IEEE 1588 for Industrial Designs” presentation will take place 16th March from 10-10:30am local time.

In addition, Microsemi technical experts and system architects will lead scheduled sessions on PolarFire FPGAs and embedded solutions at Microsemi’s and Arrow Electronics’ booths.
