MicroCare won global technology award at Productronica 2017
MicroCare Corp was honoured in winning an award for its expertise in critical cleaning. The Global Technology Award was given to the company for its new halogen-free Tergo Chlorine-Free Cleaning Fluid. The award was presented at the impressive Productronica exposition in Munich.
The award was accepted by Mike Jones, Vice President at MicroCare: “We are honoured to receive this accolade from the Global Technology Awards. This is simply the latest proof that MicroCare leads the industry in critical cleaning innovation.”
There were several specific criteria which must be satisfied to win in the ‘Cleaning Materials’ category. These include excellence in innovation, a strong cost-benefit analysis, enhanced worker safety and improved environmental considerations. The Tergo Chlorine-Free Cleaning Fluid suited all of these tests. The company claims it is simply is one of the most effective cleaning fluids on the market, which means it helps companies to clean faster, better and at lower cost while meeting ever-more stringent environmental regulations.
Engineered for use in standard vapour degreasers, the Tergo Chlorine-Free Cleaning Fluid is a high-temperature, non-flammable cleaning system sometimes is described as a ‘co-solvent’ system. There are two liquids used in the process. First, the cleaning liquid is a proprietary, slow-drying chemistry that delivers excellent cleaning on all types of solder fluxes, oils, waxes and other stubborn contamination. The second fluid is the non-flammable, fast-drying rinsing chemistry. Together, the two liquids deliver excellent cleaning of complex shapes with superior materials compatibility. Both liquids are packaged and sold separately but used simultaneously.
The new product is a suitable replacement for high Kb-value solvents such as perchloroethylene, trichloroethylene, methylene chloride or nPB, all of which are under regulatory pressure across the EU. It also avoids all the environmental concerns of those old-style solvents — it has a low global warming impact, is completely ozone-safe and does not include any smog-producing volatile organics (VOCs). The product is formulated and packaged to be acceptable in almost every country around the world.
Tergo CFCF can be used within existing vapour degreasers, but also it can replace aqueous-based cleaning systems. It may be an extremely attractive choice for companies which are considering an investment in a new water-based cleaning system.
Compared to a new aqueous system, vapour degreasing with Tergo CFCF will offer faster, gentler and more effective cleaning, using a smaller footprint, with simpler chemistry and faster throughput. It also will reduce electrical consumption which helps minimise global warming. Overall, it is a suitable drop-in replacement for many older cleaning processes being phased-out under environmental, health, safety or economic pressures.
“This product is so innovative, so unique, because it is chemically unlike any other product available in Europe today,” explained Scott Wells, General Manager – MicroCare Europe. “Not only does it work great but it also brings very impressive environmental credentials; it’s really ‘green’ and it is formulated and packaged to be acceptable in almost every country around the world.”
