LASER COMPONENTS is building on the success of last year’s IR Sessions.

As part of the four-day virtual LC Week, the company will present an IR News Flash on the afternoon of December 8th starting at 4:00pm. Attendees from previous infrared technology events and other speakers will share how their projects have progressed since then.

To start things off, Dr. Jerry Meyer of the US Naval Research Laboratory will offer a detailed analysis on the subject of “Mid-infrared Integrated Photonic Circuits.” In both the visible and near infrared spectra, this topic has already been established and – triggered by quantum technologies – continues to gain momentum. With this presentation, LASER COMPONENTS aims to initiate a systematic discussion in the MIR community as well.

Subsequently, nearly 20 speakers will present the latest developments and results in brief updates. The News Flash will provide a broad overview of the IR world with its many facets. This ranges from basics and applications to current regulations and market developments.

“The IR Sessions, our international infrared conferences in December 2020 and January 2021, were a great success with more than 800 participants from 35 countries and showed us the potential that virtual events offer,” explained Joe Kunsch, Head of the IR Components business unit at LASER COMPONENTS.

“We are building on this and have set ourselves an ambitious goal this time around. Our aim is to provide new stimuli for growth throughout the IR industry. Incidentally, the event is clearly driven by the speakers, who also wanted more opportunities for an intensive exchange of opinions and knowledge outside of the regular IR WORKshops.”
