The Internet of Things (IoT) Tech Expo Event in Berlin (June 13 - 14) provides a showcase for Rutronik’s portfolio of selected sensors for IoT applications under its RUTRONIK SMART label. A further highlight of the show is the Distribution Art Car. In line with the key industries covered by this event – including manufacturing, transport, health, logistics, energy, and automotive – Rutronik will be exhibiting the sensors of leading manufacturers.

Exhibits in the field of optical sensors include, among others, the B5T HVC face detection sensor module from Omron.

With the aid of ten sensor functions, it is able to capture, detect, and recognise different faces, estimate age and gender as well as facial poses and direction of vision, and assign facial expressions to various emotions. The IR MEMS thermopile array sensors also offer new opportunities for temperature-based detection.

The MLX90621 from Melexis is a cost-effective sensor with a 16x4 array of pixels and a wide field of view of up to 120° x 30° horizontally and vertically. T

he corresponding evaluation board EVB90621, which will also be on show at the Expo. It enables quick entry into this specific technology and supports all sensor functions during the development stage.

The distributor will additionally present the NJR4265R series from NJRC, which comprises intelligent motion sensors for the detection of slow moving objects over short distances and is certified for all EU regions.

The practical application of numerous state-of-the-art sensors will be deromstrated with the aid of the Distribution Art Car: The fully functional Audi R8 LMS is decorated with the logos of 46 companies.

The racing car’s unmistakable design was created by the Karlsruhe-based artist Rudi Fielitz. Through this campaign, Rutronik supports the activities of Bundesverband Herzkranke Kinder e.V. (German Federal Association for Children with Heart Disease).
