At the 2014 SMTA West Penn Expo & Tech Forum, Kurtz Ersa North America have announced their intention to exhibit the i-CON Series Solder Stations. The i-CON C family of intelligent soldering stations responds to the ever-increasing demands faced by soldering operators.

These challenges include continued miniaturization and densely packed PCBs, high thermal mass solder joints as well as the general problems caused by the higher temperature by lead- free applications. Simply put, such difficulties can result in decreased profits due to a decrease in touch-up productivity, an increase in PCB scrap rate and an increase in soldering tip consumption.

The i-CON C family is designed for controlling or communicating with an auxiliary Ersa product, with the stations also providing a serial port which can connect to the various supporting workbench systems. The i-CON C is available as an i-CON 1 C with one i-Tool solder iron or as the i-CON 2 C with one i-Tool iron and one additional soldering or de-soldering tool.

The SMTA  West Penn Expo & Tech Forum is scheduled to take place on Thursday August 14, 2014 at the DoubleTree Monroeville in Pennsylvania.
