Harwin to showcase latest Hi-Rel connectors
Harwin, the leading hi-rel connector and SMT board hardware manufacturer, is showcasing its latest product ranges on Stand J34 at the Electronic Design Show next month. Harwin’s award-winning Hi-Rel Gecko, Datamate and M300 families will be on display, together with the company’s new introductions to its industry standard connectors and innovative EMC Shielding products.
The multi-award winning Gecko 1.25mm hi-rel connector is a dual-row, low profile interconnect for stacking and cable mating. Smaller and lighter than Micro-D products, Gecko connectors achieve a 35% space saving on the PCB and feature a patented 4-finger beryllium copper contact design which is resistant to high vibration and shock.
The high specification of Gecko connectors has led to successful design-ins on numerous aerospace and space applications, including UAVs and satellites. Datamate 2.00mm pitch (M80 and M83) series connectors are a highly-reliable and flexible solution for many applications.
Available in single, double and triple row configurations, with 3A contacts, the range also offers mixed technology power and coax options, now including up to 40A per power contact, 6GHz / 50Ohm coax.
Harwin’s M300 connectors are a compact power solution with 10A per contact and again feature Harwin’s proven 4-finger contact design to ensure excellent electrical contact even under extreme shock and vibration.
Harwin has just added new products to its industry-standard ranges to meet customer requirements for enhanced features suitable for automated pick & place assembly.
The industry-standard options available now include 2.54mm and 2.00mm single & dual row horizontal SMT sockets; 2.54mm single row horizontal SMT pin header; 2.54mm low profile SMT socket; 2.54mm & 2.00mm dual row vertical SMT pin headers with locating pegs; 1.27mm boxed SMT header with locating pegs.
These new additions to Harwin’s industry-standard ranges are particularly targeted towards industrial, instrumentation, medical, IoT and lighting applications.
Harwin’s popular EZ-BoardWare range includes products that deliver effective EMI/RFI Shielding. EZ-BoardWare Shield Cans are simply pressed onto pre-positioned surface mount EZ-Shield Clips forming a Faraday cage around sensitive ICs and electronic circuitry, saving expensive, labour-intensive secondary assembly and facilitating rework.
The company is celebrating a stellar year which has seen a move into a new £3M, 3000m² building at its manufacturing centre in Portsmouth. The new facility was opened by HRH Prince Michael of Kent in July and is dedicated to automation and R&D facilities. Floor space has been expanded by 33% to give greater capacity and increase productivity.
