Farnell element14 debuts at London defence event
Looking to promote its proposition for the defence and security markets Farnell element14 is attending DSEI exhibition in London’s ExCel Centre (September 15-18) for the first time this year. At the event the distributor will showcase products selected from its range of 600,000 available products from leading suppliers including Harwin, Amphenol, Tektronix, and many more.
Phil Gee, Head of Sales and Corporate Director, Farnell element14, said: “We understand that supply chain integrity is key in this sector and we have been working hard to develop our proposition to appeal to the defence industry. This includes leveraging our long standing relationships with manufacturers to be able to provide reliable and fast component traceability.”
Farnell element14 offers date and lot codes on up to 200,000 SKUs, provided on fully bar-coded product labels and dispatch notes for ease of receipting and retention by customers.
Compliance with legislation such as RoHS and WEEE, plus external certification such as ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 provides further credibility as a trusted source of supply for customers in the defence and security sector.
Gee added: “As our customers move away from custom designs and obsolete products, they need to be able to guarantee the reliability and traceability of every part of their design. They also need to be able to buy exactly what’s required to minimise waste stock and to ensure that they meet all of the latest legislation and standards.”
Packaging services such as ‘cut tape’, ‘re-reel’ and low volume availability of moisture sensitive components reduces waste and ultimately cost. This is all part of Farnell element14’s high service proposition, which is complemented by quick delivery and high reliability.
With well over half of Farnell element14’s sales now online, the company has invested in new transactional websites, geared towards making it much faster and more straightforward for customers to find and buy what they need.
