The VOICE 2018 Developer Conference staged by Advantest has set new records with 177 submitted abstracts representing contributions from 13 countries. In addition to more than 90 technical presentations, VOICE 2018 featured informative Partners’ Expos, highly rated keynote speakers, 25 interactive technology kiosks and multiple networking opportunities.

Of the 565 people at this year’s events, Advantest’s customers and partners accounted for more than 60% of attendees.

The San Diego event had 276 registered attendees, the most of any U.S. VOICE conference, and included 66 technical presentations while the Taiwan conference featured 25 papers.

More than 50% of all papers across both locations were either written or co-authored by customers from 27 companies. The papers were reviewed by a technical committee that included 30 Advantest customers from 14 companies.

VOICE is made possible by the organisational work of a Steering Committee, comprised of volunteer representatives from Advantest and its global customer base, and the support of event sponsors, which included 24 companies, four of them new to VOICE.

Organisations including SEMI, Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA), VLSIresearch, IC Insights and IHS also supported VOICE 2018 and were recognised at the event.

With expanded in-app voting capabilities, attendees selected the best technical presentations and, for the first time, the best technology kiosk.

At the U.S. event, Jonvyn Wongso from Microchip won in the best presentation category for his paper on “V93000 Port Scale RF with CTH: 16-Site RF Testing of ZigBee Devices for an IoT Application.”

Ira Leventhal of Advantest was recognised for his kiosk highlighting “Cost-Efficient and Smart System-Level Testing for LTE/Cat-M/NB-IoT Devices.”

In Taiwan, Pin Chen from Qualcomm accepted the best presentation award for his paper on “Optimised Probe Tip Life Cycle at Wafer Probing by a New On-Demand Cleaning Methodology.”

Advantest’s Kevin Fan won an award for his kiosk on “FVI16: Next-Generation Floating Power VI for the V93000 – An Instrument Introduction.”
