Nordic Semiconductor showed a number of new solutions – including its “Thingy:91 X”, which in addition to cellular IoT now adds support for DECT NR+, Wi-Fi locationing, and fuel gauging – at embedded world 2024.

Also featured was an advanced Matter demonstration illustrating seamless integration within Apple and Google ecosystems, plus the latest in Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast broadcasting technology.

Emphasising its capabilities in the cellular IoT space, Nordic Semiconductor highlighted how the Thingy:91 X builds on its predecessor, Thingy:91, through an asset tracking demonstration. Built around Nordic’s recently announced nRF9151 System-in-Package (SiP), which will also be on display, the Thingy:91 X supports LTE-M, NB-IoT and GNSS as well as DECT NR+ connectivity with on-board antennas.

The nPM Family of Power Management ICs showed how the nPM1300 highlighted its comprehensive system management features and efficient fuel gauge.

“As a pioneer of Bluetooth LE technology, Nordic has evolved into a full-spectrum wireless IoT company offering a range of solutions based on leading industry standards, including LTE-M, MB-IoT, DECT NR+, Wi-Fi, Matter, and Thread,” says Magnus Pedersen, Vice President of Sales, Nordic Semiconductor. “Our comprehensive offering at Embedded World this year is our best yet and we are excited to be unveiling it at one of our industry’s most prestigious events.”
