embedded world 2023 sees a 50% increase in visitors

"We were overwhelmed by the number of visitors," reports Executive Director Benedikt Weyerer. Almost 27,000, which is over 50% more than last year, flowed through the exhibition halls during the three days. Over 40% came from abroad. This result even exceeded the high expectations of the embedded event team.

"The dynamism of the embedded industry was tangible in all the halls. Every year it impresses me anew how open-minded and innovative this community is," Weyerer recounts. "The number of highly satisfied exhibitors is the best feedback for us.”

The lecture programme of the two conferences, which were held in tandem, attracted 1,659 participants and speakers from 46 countries to the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg.

"Our approach to reflect the state of the art with a clearly structured programme and at the same time to address new topics garnered very positive response from the participants; the classes and sessions were exceptionally well attended," said Prof. Dr.-Ing. Axel Sikora, Chairman of the embedded world Conference in summary. "The three keynotes were, as ever, excellent – especially Prof. Ali Hessami's presentation on AI Ethics struck a chord."

"The glow of the displays was clearly reflected in the eyes of the display enthusiasts. Innovations in LCDs, OLEDs, micro-LEDs as well as energy-efficient reflective displays were the focus of the presentations and the networking sessions," sums up Prof. Dr. Karlheinz Blankenbach, Chairman of the electronic displays Conference.

Exhibitor forums, #women4ew and Student Day

Visitor magnets were the three exhibitor forums with their engaging expert panels, company presentations and startup pitches – all of which were almost always filled to capacity.

The networking event #women4ew celebrated its premiere. Around 100 women and a few interested men debated subjects including career paths, leadership qualities and the added value of diverse teams on Wednesday afternoon. The discussion and positive feedback generated numerous stimuli for a continuation of the format next year.

The Thursday of embedded world was dedicated to the Student Day. What characterises the embedded community? What can I write my thesis about? What exciting jobs do the exhibitors offer? With these and many other questions, around 600 students mingled with the trade fair visitors and gained an impression of the fascination of the embedded industry through the keynote speech by Dr. Stefan Finkbeiner, CEO of Bosch Sensortec, among others.

Electronic Specifier

The Electronic Specifier team was busy across all three days interviewing key spokespeople from across industry on the latest trends, and new product releases.

The winner of the Electronics Excellence Award was also announced at the show. The Electronics Excellence Award ceremony took place at the Electronic Specifier booth at 12:00pm on the 14^th March.

Rohde & Schwarz won the award for its R&S MXO 4 Oscilloscope.
