This year’s electronica, from 11th to 14th November in Munich, will provide attendees with insight into topics ranging from automotive electronics to embedded systems and the IoT. The fair will focus on the way in which ICT is networking production and the effects of this 'fourth industrial revolution'.

Solutions in the design, multicore, Ethernet and low-power sectors will be discussed by semiconductor and tool manufacturers at the embedded platforms conference and the embedded Forum. Lectures will focus on the IoT, embedded-systems security and the latest developments in the sector for motor-control technology.

At the electronica automotive conference on 10th November and the automotive Forum, challenges and opportunities associated with recent developments within the sector will be considered. Various lectures and a panel discussion on 12th November will examine these challenges and opportunities. Developments in lighting technology and power electronics will also be discussed.

The various conferences that are being held during electronica will focus on Infrastructure and Networks, Energy, M2M, Sensors, Security and Industry Software. The IT2Industry Conference is included within the programme and will use technical lectures and best-practice examples to examine the concrete effects of the IoT on industry. The conference, which takes place at the Press Center East at Messe München on 11th November will allow production managers, engineers and developers to analyse ICT solutions in the electronics industry, electronics manufacturing and plant/machine manufacturing.

At the electronica Forum on 11th November, possibilities and challenges associated with the IoT will be considered at the CEO roundtable. Other lectures at the forum during the the fair will examine the smart home and the smart grid and consider the security risks which increased networking poses. Attendees will also be provided with information about developments in the lighting sector and printed and organic electronics in general.

MEMS and supply chains will be the focus of lectures at the PCB & Components Marketplace. At a panel discussion titled ‘Supply Chain Management in the Electronics Industry’ on 12th November, the findings of a working group in Germany's Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association on this topic will be presented at electronica. PCBs and EMS will also be covered at the PCB & Components Marketplace.

Industry experts will analyse the technical aspects of current and future wireless technologies primarily for industrial use at the Wireless Congress 'Systems & Applications', which takes place at the ICM – Internationales Congress Center München on 12th and 13th November.

On all four days of the fair, companies will present their products in half-hour presentations at exhibitor Forum.
