electronica and productronica India
India’s number one trade fairs for electronic components and production technology, electronica India and productronica India are expecting that around 300 exhibitors, representing 600 companies, will take part in the event, held from 23rd to 25th September 2014 at BIEC, Bengaluru.
The 2013 was successful, with 11,589 trade visitors, and organisers are anticipating another success this year. The recently announced M-SIPS policy is providing a boost for electronics manufacturing and components manufacturing in India. Semiconductor wafer plants (fabs) have already been approved by two consortia for a total cost of 63,410 rupees crores.
According to an NDTV.com report, India's demand for electronics products is forecasted to rise almost tenfold by 2020, reaching $400bn (USD). Policy makers are therefore worried that electronics imports (without major local manufacturing) could exceed those of oil. These initial fabs will significantly impact the development of electronics system design and manufacturing across India.
Along with the Indian Electronics Semiconductor Association (IESA), electronica India and productronica India will present the inaugural Deftronics conference. This aerospace and defence electronics symposium highlights sector-specific issues, emerging trends and the overall outlook for strategic electronics in the aerospace and defence verticals. IPC INDIA 2014 will also be co-located with electronica India and productronica India, focusing on PCB manufacturing development in India.
