electronica 2024 highlights supporting programme

The extensive supporting programme offers practice-oriented forums, conferences, and special events. This creates an international platform for dialogue, leading the way toward the All Electric Society, where energy demand is met through CO²-neutral electricity.

Exhibition Director Katja Stolle remarked: “electronica 2024 is already a great success. We have 18 full halls, an excellent supporting programme and we can sense how much the exhibitors are looking forward to this year's trade fair”.

Industry experts will share their practical knowledge in presentations and discussions across six stages, covering almost every electronics application. Topics range from automotive and electrical connectors to embedded, IIoT, and power electronics. The 2024 programme also expands on existing topics, with new focuses on AI machine learning and Women in Tech.

New trends in automotive and wireless

Two major conferences will run at the ICM (International Congress Center) during electronica. The electronica Automotive Conference on 11th November will gather specialists and executives from the entire supply chain ahead of the fair. Keynote speakers include Peter Schiefer, Automotive President of Infineon Technologies, and Gregg Lowe, CEO of Wolfspeed. The conference will cover trends and challenges in electrification, sustainability, and cyber security, alongside developments in interior design and driver assistance systems.

The Wireless Congress: Systems & Applications, taking place on 13–14th November, will focus on advanced wireless systems, covering the latest developments and their practical applications in the industry.

CEO roundtable

A highlight of electronica is the CEO Roundtable, which will be held on 11th November at 5pm, the evening before the fair opens, at the ICM. This year, the discussion will focus on ‘Leading the way to the All Electric Society’. Joining the discussion will be Jean-Marc Chery (STMicroelectronics), Jochen Hanebeck (Infineon Technologies), and Kurt Sievers (NXP Semiconductors), alongside Barbara Bergmeier, Executive Director Industrial Operations at Jaguar Land Rover.

Focus on sustainability

Sustainability is a central theme throughout the exhibition and supporting programme. Alongside various presentations, several events are dedicated to this subject. On 13th November, the bgreen leaders network will host a full day of lectures and panel discussions on sustainability and the circular economy. The All Electric Society Tour, supported by the German Electro and Digital Industry Association (ZVEI), will offer a guided tour of selected exhibitors showcasing their contributions to the All Electric Society.

Platform for young talent

As the electronics industry continues to grow, attracting talent remains vital. The electronica Fast Forward platform, in partnership with Elektor, will give startups the chance to present their innovations and compete for the Fast Forward Award at stand B4.440. This year also introduces a dedicated stand for influencers, featuring names such as Max.Imagination, DIY GUY Chris, and GreatScott!.

The Career Area (B4.359) will offer daily advice on applications and career planning, alongside a job market with industry information and exclusive opportunities. The Young Talents Day on 15th November will offer school and university students tours, workshops, and career advice with free admission.

Additionally, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research's InnoTruck will be on-site throughout the fair (Atrium between A1 and B1), showcasing technical innovations and the job profiles linked to them.
