Captec has announced it will be exhibiting at DSEI 2019. Held during 10th to 13th September at the ExCeL, London, DSEI is the world’s leading event that connects governments, national armed forces, industry thought leaders and the global defence and security supply chain.

Captec will be at DSEI showcasing naval-certified racks, high performance ruggedised computing, rugged tablets and notebooks. Additional solutions will include a new quadbox for image-intensive simulation applications, a rugged power distribution unit and a new 4U industrial computer with support for Intel Xeon processors.

A 2019 Queen’s Award for innovation winner, Captec is scaling rapidly through organic and acquisitive growth as it progresses towards IPO floatation. The acquisition of Cove Industrial Enterprises, a precision metal and electro-mechanical integration specialist, provides defence customers with a streamlined supply chain and single point of contact for fully-integrated computing solutions.

This was followed by the acquisition of Aleutia, a manufacturer of compact, low-power fanless PCs. These computers will be presented at DSEI as the Captec E-Series after a redesign to support 8th generation Intel processors.

Captec also partners with leading suppliers of high performance and ruggedised computing including Dell, Getac, HPE, Panasonic, Perfectron, Spartan and Trenton Systems. Captec couples commercial off-the-shelf products from its strategic partner base with custom engineering to meet the demands of defence applications across land, air and sea.

Established in 1985, Captec has built its reputation on solving complex engineering challenges using the latest technology roadmaps, while evolving in line with the demands of the industry to offer complete agility, flexibility and scalability. By combining the cost and availability advantages of commercial hardware with bespoke engineering, Captec is disrupting the defence industry through innovative solutions that meet exact requirements, on time and in budget.

Peter Molyneux, Strategic Projects Director for Defence, Captec, said: “DSEI is the premier event for the UK and global defence industries. We look forward to engaging with the defence community and progressing project discussions following high interest in our new capabilities including integrated deployed shelters and E-Series computers for applications requiring SWaP optimisation.

“With new products launching and further acquisitions planned, we will be at DSEI demonstrating our commitment to helping our customers gain a tactical advantage through the benefits of commercial technology.”
