FCI has announced that it will exhibit its current range of connectors and launch several recently-introduced products at electronica 2014. FCI's booth will feature product highlights from various product categories, namely board-to-board, wire-to-board, power, terminal blocks, high speed backplane, high speed I/O, storage and FFCC/FPC. Live demonstrations will also be conducted throughout the exhibition.

On November 11th at 4pm (EU time), in Hall B3, Booth 161, FCI will be revealing several of the latest interconnect solutions from its power portfolio. Several products from the company's wire-to-board and high speed portfolios will also be showcased at the trade fair, held in Munich, 11th to 14th November 2014.

FCI's PwrBlade ULTRA and PwrBlade+ cable connectors are the most recent addition to its PwrBlade family, and offer smaller form factors and larger wire size capabilities than other products available today, say the company. PwrBlade ULTRA suits backplane hard-metric or coplanar applications. Rated at 65A per contact, the PwrBlade ULTRA connectors offer the lowest contact resistance on the market. PwrBlade+ cables give customers the ability to connect cables to the wide installed base of PwrBlade+ connectors. Rated at up to 60A per contact and capable of terminating 26AWG-6AWG wires, PwrBlade+ cables can be used in a variety of power distribution applications.

FCI will also expand its product portfolio of the Minitek Pwr family with the Minitek Pwr Hybrid 3.0 & 4.2 connectors, both available in dual row of 2 to 24 power circuits, and 2 to 12 signal for Wire-to-Board application. Crimping and removal tools are available for wire harness assemblies, and vertical wave soldering headers are available in through-hole configurations.

The improved and flexible design of Minitek Pwr Hybrid 3.0 series for power and data applications supports current ratings of up to 5A per contact. Its crimp and snap-in receptacles are used to terminate AWG 20 to 30 wires. Minitek Pwr Hybrid 4.2 is manufactured for high-current and high-density applications, and supports up to 9A per contact. Its crimp and snap-in receptacles are used to terminate AWG 16 to 30 wires.

Visitors attending the electronica launch will also be able to get a sneak peek of BarGuide, the newest line in the Power Portfolio. The BarGuide connectors were developed to meet the ever-evolving demands for high power distribution in high density packaging, providing high amperage connections between busbars and circuit boards. BarGuide connectors provide a current carrying capability from 60-250A, based on specific pin size.
