Avnet Silica gets visible at electronica
At this year’s electronica (Messe München, 8 – 11 November 2016), Avnet Silica, an Avnet company, will showcase its advanced solutions for the IOT and automotive development. In Hall A4, Booth 179, the company will present three demonstrations that highlight the power and flexibility of its Visible ThingsTM IoT platform, which delivers rich functionality from edge to enterprise with outstanding cost, power and size specifications.
Leading-edge features of Visible Things include embedded vision, security, cognitive analytics and application-specific elements aimed at industrial markets.
On show for the first time will be a brand new gateway product focused on the industrial space, and a unique security architecture that delivers true enterprise-grade security from the IP network core all the way to smart sensor configurations at the network edge – including low-power non-IP-based sensors.
The third demonstration, an embedded vision system, combines image capture from low-cost non-intelligent sensors with high-end cognitive analytics in the cloud, to deliver a unique combination of real-time analysis and long-term business intelligence.
Featured in the automotive area in Hall A6, Booth 127, Avnet Silica’s automotive offering encompasses a broad range of solutions from both established market leaders and technology pioneers – including gesture control, embedded vision, in-vehicle networking, and gateway products.
The company’s uniquely comprehensive linecard made for an unrivalled capability to support customers in the increasingly complex automotive landscape.
Avnet Silica’s automotive showcase at electronica 2016 will reinforce the next revolution in this growing industry, and show how customers can stay ahead of the curve in fast-developing areas such as autonomous vehicles, the connected car, security and eMobility.
The industry today is characterised by a rapidly increasing speed of innovation, driven by consumers’ desire for new features such as upgradeable cars, shared mobility and on-demand services.
Market disruption is further fuelled by the emergence of new business models and market players – such as Uber and Google – changing the competitive landscape and diversifying the automotive revenue stream. In this environment of change, Avnet Silica will use electronica 2016 to demonstrate its capabilities as a proven partner for automotive solutions.
In addition to its two main application priorities for the show, Avnet Silica will show a broad range of its development boards and design tools. Created in co-operation with leading silicon vendors, Avnet Silica aims to provide engineers with an efficient, high-performance, cost-effective development infrastructure that spans both hardware and software.
Boards on-show at electronica will include development platforms for software-defined-radio, HMI, industrial computing, WiFi and IEEE 802.15.4 systems.
