Suppliers add lustre to distributor's DSEI exhibit
Looking to woo customers in aerospace and defence markets, distributor Astute Electronics will be showcasing products from its franchised distribution business at DSEI in London (September 15-18). Products from leading suppliers including Airborn, Amphenol, Delphi, EDAC (MH Connectors) Excelsys, Euroquartz, Fischer, Huber & Suhner, Linear Tech, MicroOled, Positronic, Quell, Semtech and Weidmuller will be on parade.
The company will also demonstrate its prowess as established specialist supplier of hard-to-find electronic components for defence and aerospace customers. It is undergoing auditing to anti-counterfeiting standard AS6081, and it expects shortly to be the first European distributor to achieve this accreditation.
Visitors to the show will be able to hear about Astute’s test facilities and procedures when supplying non-traceable parts, and its ability to offer a 10-year guarantee on such items. Prior to delivery to the customer, all non-traceable components are tested at Astute’s £1M test facility in the UK.
Testing is comprehensive, not only involving functional tests, but also effectively “mapping” the materials they are manufactured from using techniques such as scanning electron microscopy to ensure a match to known genuine parts.
Astute’s services for the defence market also include procurement management programmes and long-term schedule support. It has extensive experience and knowledge of related areas, such as through-life support, product specification (883, JANTX and others) up-screening and NATO numbers. The company is approved to Airworthy ISO9001/2, accredited to SC21 Silver Level supply chain excellence and is ITAR and EAR compliant.
