Hitachi continue to enhance and develop 5.7” ¼ VGA TFT
Hitachi Display Products Group's strategy of continuous product development and improvement is ably demonstrated with the new TX14D22VM1BAA 5.7” ¼ VGA TFT display. Hitachi has consistently been at the forefront of the development of the 5.7” ¼ VGA industry standard and the new TX14D22VM1BAA continues this process. The recently introduced 5.7” TFT features a new super slim mechanical form factor, ¼ VGA (320 x 240 pixels) resolution and a high brightness LED backlight.
‘AThe new module design implements a 2 driver Chip on Glass (COG) construction which aids ease of manufacture and provides increased display robustness and enhanced reliability. The new TX14D22VM1BAA has compact mechanical dimensions of 131.0mm (w) x 102.2mm (h) x 7.1mm (d). Hitachi’s existing 5.7” ¼ VGA modules have a thickness of 10.9mm while the new design of TX14D22VM1BAA features a 35% reduction (in thickness) and a subsequent weight reduction with the module weighing only 150g.
Exceptional optical performance, a traditional Hitachi strength, is maintained with an impressive 350:1 contrast ratio and a robust high brightness LED backlight that ensures excellent image uniformity whilst delivering a brightness of 400cd/m² and a typical lifetime of 40K hours. The TX14D22VM1BAA implements an industry standard 6-bit RGB CMOS data interface which enables an extensive colour palette of up to 262K colours to be displayed.
The new lightweight and compact TX14D22VM1BAA is partnered with a touch panel version of the display the TX14D22VM1BPA. Both display modules are mechanically compatible in all respects, other than the thickness of the module, with existing Hitachi 5.7” ¼ VGA display modules allowing existing users to easily migrate to the new displays. Both modules are ideally suitable for industrial and consumer hand held and battery powered devices and applications.
