Temperature-stable robust small OLED displays
DISPLAY VISIONS has launched a series of durable white and yellow small format OLED displays for use in extreme temperatures.
As self-illuminating, they are exceptionally flat and high-contrast in all directions. They are available with pins for direct mounting or with ZIFF connections.
Whether it is Arctic cold or tropical heat, the durable, small-format OLED displays from DISPLAY VISIONS can cope with the most extreme ambient temperatures. They work reliably in a wide range of temperatures from -40° to +80°C. Even at -40°C, the typical response time remains an ultra-fast 10 µs without afterglow. This makes this graphic OLED range ideal for use in refrigeration or cold storage facilities. They also perform their duties reliably and for a long period of time in hand-held devices for outdoor use or in drying kilns, saunas or machine rooms.
With their self-illuminating OLED technology, these panels do not require backlighting. They are therefore very flat, having a thickness of between 2 and 2.5 mm. These devices do not suffer from temperature-dependent contrast drift. Their display remains high-contrast and sharp even when viewed at any angle over 360°. The contrast ratio is over 1,000:1.
These OLEDs are available in white and high-contrast yellow, with and without a polariser and protective glass. As the world’s first OLED displays in this format, they are available with pins in a 2.54 mm grid for direct soldering. This eliminates the need for expensive assemblies, helps with the rapid construction of samples and simplifies the series production. A ZIFF connector for connection via flexible cables is also possible. The controller is already integrated. It is controlled either via a pin-saving SPI interface or the I²C bus. The supply voltage is 3.3 V.
DISPLAY VISIONS currently offers the EA OLEDs in 0.66" to 5.5” diagonals. The resolutions are between 64x48 and 256x64 dots. The 2" EA OLEDM204 is purely a text display and is able to display 3x20 or 2x20 characters in double font size instead of 4x20.
