LASER COMPONENTS is pleased to offer the OFL100 OTDR which enables the front-line user to quickly locate loss events in both short distance fibre links and the final fibre connection of a FTTx network.

The user can test, qualify, and troubleshoot even the most elusive faults.  The compact, lightweight, rugged, and economical OFL100 is a vital tool for fibre optic networks installation, maintenance and trouble shooting.  The easy-to-use OTDR needs only a short learning curve to get the most from its measurement capabilities.

The touchscreen provides an intuitive interface for operators so that they can locate loss events such as cut fibres, contaminated, or damaged connectors and excessively bent fibres.  The auto mode allows for the user to initiate a measurement without adjusting any test parameters.  There is an expert OTDR mode allowing access to all the features that the OTDR user demands so that they can refine measurement parameters as they get more proficient.

Results can be displayed using a traditional OTDR trace or linear map with user-selectable pass/fail analysis.  All events are measured, annotated, saved, and exported as an industry standard SOR file.  The SOR file can be imported into the trace viewing program where analysis can be performed, and test results can be saved as a PDF report whilst in the comfort of a pleasant environment.

Features include integrated VFL to visually locate fibre faults within the OFL100 dead zone.  The VFL can be used to confirm continuity of improperly labelled or not labelled fibre optic cables up to approximately 5km.

There is an OPM that can be used to measure absolute optical power levels as well as allow the operator to perform loss measurements on a fibre link when used in tandem with the integrated stabilised laser source.
