trinamiX face authentication in smartphone reference design at MWC Barcelona
trinamiX is taking their face authentication running on a smartphone reference design to Barcelona. The company’s booth at Mobile World Congress (MWC) invites customers to a first-hand experience of the high-security level of trinamiX face authentication and its invisible integration behind the smartphone’s OLED display. The trade show will be open to visitors from 27th February to 2nd March 2023.
trinamiX face authentication is finally erasing the need for a punch hole or notch in the display, which is typically needed to integrate face authentication into smartphones. Thanks to trinamiX’s solution, future smartphones will be able to combine the convenience of touchless, biometric user authentication with an unlimited, full-screen viewing experience.
Secure authentication – on your mobile devices and inside your car
During MWC Barcelona, visitors will be able to get their hands on trinamiX face authentication running on a smartphone reference design. At booth 5J84 in hall 5, trinamiX will expose their solution to live spoof attempts with realistic, three-dimensional masks, proofing that it reliably protects smartphone users against unauthorized access and fraud by means of a novel liveness detection based on skin. To complement these demonstrations, trinamiX is further presenting a reference design in collaboration with STMicroelectronics, a global semiconductor leader, to allow for the particularly easy integration of trinamiX face authentication into various consumer electronics.
trinamiX has been collaborating with tech company Continental to apply their face authentication solution to an innovative use case in the automotive industry. At MWC, trinamiX is now presenting the result of their joint efforts: ‘The Driver Identification Display.’ The invisible integration of trinamiX’s solution into Continental’s in-cabin driver display allows for the touchless authentication of the driver – for a secure operation of integrated digital payment apps and more. Everyone stopping by the booth is invited to figuratively hop into the driver’s seat and test the authentication features themselves.
Reading your body – personal health and fitness insights
trinamiX is presenting an additional innovation to the consumer electronics market: A sensor for seamless integration into commercially available smartphones and smartwatches, which allows for performing individual measurements on skin, e.g., related to personal health and fitness condition. By means of near-infrared spectroscopy and in combination with an intuitive app, smartphone users will receive tailor-made recommendations in real-time. For the first time, trinamiX has mounted their functional prototype of this miniaturized spectrometer inside a demonstrator that operates on a smartphone-like system environment. Thanks to this progress in further developing trinamiX consumer spectroscopy, visitors of MWC 2023 will be among the first to experience the solution in action.
