TenAsys Corporation (www.tenasys.com), a leading provider of real-time and embedded virtualization software, announces a new scalable real-time OS called INtime Distributed RTOS at the Embedded World show.
Based on the company’s established product, INtime for Windows®, INtime Distributed RTOS enables programmers to write applications that run without modification on different system configurations spanning from single-core or multi-core processor systems to multi-platform systems with multi-core processors.

The scalability of applications using INtime Distributed RTOS is made possible with the introduction of global objects and an underlying network called GOBSnet. This inter-process communications technology enables real-time embedded applications to leverage the performance potential of the new 2nd Generation Intel® processor family. Now, modules of performance-critical application code can be executed on their own processor cores. For example, by using the Intel® CoreTM i7 processor with Intel IPP libraries one can perform real-time advanced signal processing applications on dedicated cores, essentially doing away with the need to have separate application-specific processors in a system.

“With INtime Distributed RTOS, embedded system hardware can be scaled to meet the cost/performance goals of the OEM product, without requiring changes to the software,” said Kim Hartman, TenAsys VP of marketing and sales. “This gives our OEMs an advantage over competitors whose products have static implementations.”

“The 2nd Generation Intel® CoreTM processor family is key to offering scalable cost and performance options to the embedded computing industry,” said Matt Langman, marketing director, Embedded Computing Division, Intel Corporation. “With software solutions, such as TenAsys INtime Distributed RTOS, we are able to maximize performance potential.”

Like TenAsys’ other OS products, INtime Distributed RTOS is engineered to be configured quickly, with applications being easy to design and debug using Microsoft® Visual Studio® 2010.
