Starter kits for ARM Cortex-M4-based STM32F429 MCUs
IAR Systems has today introduced new starter kits for the high-performance STM32F429 microcontroller series from STMicroelectronics. Providing hardware, example projects and evaluation versions of IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM, there are several kits available which can be used to evaluate the tools and the included microcontroller, as well as to design, start develop, integrate and test applications.
Designed for medical, industrial and consumer applications requiring a high level of integration and peripherals, the STMicroelectronics STM32F429 MCUs are based on a high-performance ARM Cortex-M4 core and feature a rich set connectivity, graphics and audio peripherals.
Containing software and example projects, IAR KickStart Kit for STM32F429 includes a feature-rich evaluation board with plenty of connectivity possibilities. The evaluation board features an LCD touch screen, microphone and headphone connectors, Ethernet, USB OTG and USB Host connectors. Also included is SPI flash memory, an SD card slot and multiple power supply options. The included J-Link Lite debug probe provides JTAG and SWD debug interfaces.
IAR also provides a range of fully integrated in-circuit debugging probes (sold seperately) for enhanced debug capabilities. An exceptionally fast debugging platform, I-jet can measure target power consumption with a high degree of accuracy. JTAGjet-Trace provides advanced trace functionality, while detailed current and voltage measurements can be added by I-scope.
There are two IAR Experiment! kits available for the new STMicroelectronics’ STM32F429 microcontroller series: a magnetometer kit and a game controller kit, both of which include example projects, evaluation versions of IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM and an STM32F429 evaluation board.Used to identify magnetic fields, the magnetometer kit incorporates a magnetometer module. The kit then outputs the information onto a small LCD display. The game controller kit features a game controller and a colour LCD.
Optionally including a J-Link Lite debug probe, the new kits are compatible with other JTAG probes such as I-jet. Pricing starts at €69 (EUR) or $94 (USD). The kits are in stock and available in IAR Systems’ e-shop.
