EAGLE - Europe’s best selling CAD Tool of its kind from Premier Farnell now incorporates DesignLink
Premier Farnell plc has announced the launch of EAGLE software version 5.10.0. The latest version of CadSoft’s award winning EAGLE software, the best selling CAD tool of its kind, incorporates “DesignLink”, giving electronic design engineers (EDEs) complete flexibility to manipulate component data. Unlike any other CAD tool, designers can ‘cut and slice’ information however they want to; the only barriers to how they want to use being imagination and time to implement their desired functionality.
The The software is now available from element14, the company’s innovative technology eCommunity for EDEs, bringing Web 2.0 to engineers along with over 10,000 technical documents and software tools. Customers can find the DesignLink credentials required directly from the element14 website. These credentials are time limited but users can renew them free of charge. All versions of EAGLE including the FREE licence edition ‘Freemium’ contain DesignLink.
The Chinese version of the software will now automatically install Mandarin versions of the manual, as well as a tutorial on computers where it is the default language. Additionally, Mandarin and Hungarian menus are available.
EAGLE has 3 main elements: schematic, layout and autorouter. Users also enjoy many additional features including an unlimited “undo/redo” function and “follow me router”, which allows the EDE to accept or overwrite router recommendations. This new version reinforces Premier Farnell’s commitment to provide ‘beyond product’ design solutions to EDEs.
“The addition of DesignLink to EAGLE is a great step for us. When we purchased CadSoft, some engineering bloggers doubted our commitment to the free versions of the software. In a short time we have now introduced three new versions, introduced a far more powerful Freemium version and have now implemented DesignLink which massively increased usefulness for the EDE,” said David Shen, Global Head of Technical Marketing at Premier Farnell.
