IAR KickStart Kit for Renesas RL78 is now available, IAR Systems announced today. Starter kits from IAR Systems contain all the hardware and software needed to design, start developing, test, and evaluate your application.
The new IAR KickStart Kit for RL78/G13 comprises a feature-rich evaluation board from Renesas, with an integrated TK debugger on-board, LCD, digital light and temperature sensors, 3-axis accelerometer, Micro SD slot, microphone, audio output, IR transmitter/receiver, and more. Included in the kit are also IAR Embedded Workbench® for RL78, Kickstart edition, and sample projects that employ peripherals using sensors, a display and an audio speaker.

IAR KickStart Kit for Renesas RL78/G13 is priced at EUR 90/USD 105. The part number is KSK-YRDKRL78G13.

IAR Systems was the first company in the world to deliver development tools for the RL78 family, and the highly-optimizing IAR Embedded Workbench continues to be the only C/C++ compiler and debugger toolchain that supports this microcontroller family. IAR Embedded Workbench supports all RL78 devices, and IAR Systems is firmly committed to supplying high-class tools for all Renesas MCUs.

The Renesas RL78 microcontrollers are advanced 16-bit MCUs that combine low power consumption and high performance. They are designed specifically for ultra-low-power applications, such as patient monitors, toothbrushes, smoke detectors, home appliances, industrial gauges, battery-operated power tools, computer peripherals, and audio equipment. The microcontroller family is based on the 78K0R architecture with integrated peripherals inherited from the R8C family. IAR Systems has substantial experience from developing tools for both these families
